Oil Prices may be in the $70s by lunch time
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/17/oil-pric...trump.html
"U.S. crude oil
futures for May delivery fell 9.8% to $85.37 per barrel. International benchmark Brent
for June delivery tumbled 9.1% to $90.38 per barrel."

Below $84/bbl as of this posting. Get your hats in your hands Lefties and Neo-Cons.

Cool, Iran agreed to open the strait once Israel started following the terms of the original ceasefire and included Lebanon. Hope a permanent deal gets struck soon, and if it's a complete and total victory for Trump cool I really don't care as long as this thing ends.

My guess is the blockade of the blockade had a lot do with it as well. Iran, just like everyone else, has to get its oil to market.

Daily reminder that the price of oil on the trading market is not the cost of the physical oil being bought and delivered. 07-coffee3 There's consistently been around a $30/B premium being charged.

Oh, well then, when it shot up over $100 and the price at the tank overnight jumped 30, 40, 50 cents it had NOTHING to do with the price on the trading market? I guess that was just coincidental?

Maybe, maybe not. I really don't care, I want this to be over ASAP. If Iran comes out and says Trump is the 4D chess master and blockading the blockade made us give up everything that's awesome I DGAF. For this to end Trump is going to have to get something that makes him be able to say we won everything, so I hope he gets whatever that is.

My retirement accounts were at all time highs yesterday.

Looks like they are going to go up another 1% by the end of the day.

You really have no idea how any of it works, do you?

I didn't stutter.

See if you can follow this simple math:

1. Take the price that oil is currently trading at on the paper market.
2. Add $30 to each barrel at that price.
3. Total is the physical delivered price of a barrel of oil actually being paid.

In the past, the paper price and delivered price were about the same. Since this war began, a $30-$40 premium was routinely added to nearly every barrel delivered.

Cool, I just looked so are mine, but that doesn't matter for another 20+ years for me. There will probably be at least 2 massive market crashes between now and me turning 59 1/2. End the thing permanently and the stoinks will hit even more records!!!

Don't worry, I'm only going to be more miserable when I have to start paying 2k+ a month for childcare in the next few weeks.

I could fix the childcare problem and it wouldn't cost the government another dime. Hey Trump, ask me how.

Your condescending retard comment aside you have no idea how much she wishes that were actually economically possible. My wife is leaving her NP job with a non-profit that serves people who fall into the category who make too much for Medicaid but don't have private insurance. She loves the job and is devastated to have to leave, but because it's a non-profit the pay is absolute trash for an NP. Her new job is going to pay 50k more than her current position, and essentially all of the post tax amount of that will end up going to childcare till kindergarten. If she had a job that only paid 50-60k then yeah it would make sense for her to just stay home, but obviously she has a job that pays a lot more than that and we can't get by without her salary. This move just gets us back to our current situation when you factor in what we are going to have to pay for childcare.

Don't outsource parenting.

My kids have gone without me home a total of maybe 10 days their entire lives.
