Cringe...
Amazing how it took the country several months to make Joe the presumptive nominee and within hours of Joe stepping down, Kamala is now the presumptive nominee.
Amazing how a completely rigged primary process from the start is being retconed as some democratic process that must now be respected. Amazing how the group of people who have been screaming at the sky that Sloe Biden is too old and senile to be running for president (and I agree you were right I was screaming this going back to 2019) now scream at the sky when he essentially admits they have been right the whole time and stops running for president.
I think it's disgusting that the Dems have completely rigged 3 straight primaries, and have argued in a court of law and won on the point that they have the complete right to do it. It absolutely is disgusting, undemocratic, and I think there should be real discussion about reforming the entire process of primaries. Please GOP go out and advocate and propose legislation to change the national primary process, I'm all for it.
Wait.. What?
Only one side has "super delegates" that can decide a nominee..
We're not screaming at the sky about Joe dropping out as much as we're pointing out that in no uncertain terms we've been right for 3 years, but it's amazing he's too incompetent to stand trial and run for re-election (after the process) but can still "run" the country for the next 6 months. That's our issue more or less...
Not sure what wasn't clear about that. Currently primaries aren't actually real "elections." The rules are completely decided by the parties themselves and they are completely free to change them whenever they wish or disregard them completely if they wish, and the only thing stopping it is if they fear a massive backlash from their own people for doing it. It's a disgusting, awful, and undemocratic system that should be changed.
The main reason the GOP didn't pull the same type of shenanigans to Trump in 2016 that the Dems did to Bernie is that Bernie is a cuck. Trump for better or worse (and in this case I'd say absolutely for the better) has balls and holds grudges. He made it very clear in debates that he would not automatically support/endorse the primary winner if it wasn't him and made it clear he would consider running 3rd party. He was dead right to do that, and if Bernie weren't a b*tch he'd have done the same.
There's absolutely no rules or laws though that would have prevented the GOP from doing it, just the threat that Trump was willing to destroy the entire party if they did with enough people who would have followed him. Primaries do not need to be governed and controlled by the parties, they need to be governed and controlled the same way as normal elections.
As far as Biden, yes all of us that have been saying he was too senile to even run for president in 2020 much less be president have been right the whole time. Yes you are also right that he is not capable of being president right now and he needs to resign.
My point is unfortunately while what the Dems did absolutely is undemocratic and disgusting it was unfortunately perfectly legal, and if Biden had refused to drop out and they staged a convention coup it still would have been unfortunately perfectly legal. I'd love to change that, where you are actually legally bound to the results of the primaries and not just bound to them if you want to be, and that's what I'd love to see some proposals and legislation laid out to change.
