It’s freaking “ee-ther” dammit!!
And people that pronounce moot as mute.
Ah! You speak of the text and Alexa generation who never write, can't read cursive, and use improper words because they sound like what they wanted to say. Yes, I'm familiar with those. My wife and two other older women in their lab were called out by two young recently hired women for abuse because they passed each other notes in cursive. The claim was the younger women were discriminated against because they thought it was a code or foreign language from which they were being excluded. When the university ombudsman took one look at a note to run a coagulation from one older woman to another which 1. Never mentioned the new employees, 2. Was clearly legible, and 3. Contained no slight or deviation from the work which needed to be done, the foolishness and ignorance of the younger product of higher education was clear to all, especially the ombudsman.
One of the younger women in the lab wanted to say she was tired of the rigamarole but instead said she was tired of the whole rigor Mortis. One youngster on the CS/CR forum spoke of a Tiger changing his spots. And another one said something was greater than Swiss Cheese, the idiom was to be Sliced Bread.
Technology assisted stupidity is upon us as young people no longer have to learn the reasons why things are as they are, or the logic that upholds them, since logic which was derived from North African mathematics and Greek Reason is now deemed Eurocentric, which is perhaps another great jaw dropper, as to why something so crucial to establish learning tools is no longer taught.
They can use a calculator but can't add, subtract, multiply, or divide in their head. Hell, they can't even make change. And that in part is due to debit cards.
They have no culture, no knowledge of real history, few can name the 50 states on a map and don't ask them the capitals. They can't read maps either.
And texting left them bereft of spelling.
Is there any part of IDIOT I failed to mention. If so please regail me.
