Warren Left A Messed In Big 10

Particually the tv contract. It was not even completely finished before it was done with the figures. That means some money is not there until the things get worked out with NBC.

Meh. It's a hit job by his successor, standard procedure to blame your predecessor for any issue that crop up in the first year or so.

Warren had well-documented issues corralling all those Very Powerful and Full of Themselves Presidents in the B1G, it's no wonder that he bolted at the opportunity for a top 5 NFL gig.

This is setting up for a reason to expand to keep the networks happy, but perhaps only through partial shares. Either that, or they intend to find a fourth partner to make the conference whole if these minor headwinds are true. That too will go hand in hand with expansion, and relatively soon.

Everyone should be careful declaring the Big 10 to be in a mess. I have it on sound authority that they are pretending to be inept and haphazard in hopes of attracting all of the John Swofford friendly schools from the ACC. It is a deceptively insidious plan to use chaos to attract those who have been abused by chaos and know no better way!

Warren's tenure will always be stained with me due to his reluctance to play FB games for the 2020 season. He was pushed into it by the SEC.

They were far from the only FBS conference to start late and have an abbreviated schedule in 2020, why does it seem like they're getting the most backlash? To my memory, there were at least four conferences, Big Ten, Pac 12, MWC, and MAC.

Big 10 may have to payback Fox $40 Million dollars because Warren signed the Big 10 playoffs to NBC, and Big 10 schools playing night games in November.

Nobody cares about the MAC. The MWC played as many as the Big 10. MAC and MWC seemed to be mostly following the lead of the P5 in their region. The Big 10 is a leader and was very vocal about not playing.

Yeah, I felt that he was pushed into it by Nebraska and a few other Brand schools in his own conference. He was new anyway, he was always going to do what his schools wanted.

I was 100% on board with OSU to the SEC if the 2020 season had stayed canceled.
