Great Sports Weekend
Tigers take the series against Tulane to finish the regular season at 28-26.

Showboat mauls the Pittsburg Maulers 22-0

901FC remains undefeated against FC Tulsa.

After 5 rainouts over 2 seasons, they're finally running the Grassroots Nations.

02-13-banana Things really go haywire on this board when there is not much going on sportswise at this time of year.

There is nothing at all elitist about soccer. Globally, it is the only game that is literally for everyone. On point, as usual though.

A sport widely known for its hooligan fans and riots at games is hardly cultured.

Do you think if 901FC used the Americanized form of promotion as the Rogues did with the catchy name, mascot, cheerleaders, and fight song instead of the current international type promotion that they would draw better?

Rogues averaged over 8,500 with a strike season included, with almost no youth programs.

While with over 45 years of youth soccer to build on 901FC is barely putting 2,000 butts in seats, even though they're announcing 3,500.

Part of it is that at the time the NASL was THE soccer league here. Memphis plays in a lower level league and that does impact attendance.

Hell, with one ball and literally no other equipment 22 kids can play all at once. More than that if nobody is counting, lol

You can also play with 4 or 6 kids. 2v2 and 3v3.

Every nation in the world plays it and other than the US (multiple sports) and Canada (hockey) it's THE sport. It does take some knowledge to be able to enjoy a well played 0-0 game but if you know what to look for you can.

Indeed. The NASL back then is like today's MLS.

The cultured in England watch Rugby or Cricket. Now that I can watch pretty much any game I want due to technology, I really couldn't care less if any other American watches the sport or not. I got what I want.
