Quit looking at the names on front of the uniform.

May not be as difficult as last year but it is far from a easy schedule.

We have a four game stretch where we can go 4-0 or 0-4 or anywhere in between.

Many are talking easy schedule and setting high standards so you can start your annual bash the coach threads if he doesn't meet those standards.

Even the ESPN power ratings have us losing 4 games.

I agree. No one is going to roll over for us. They’re not afraid.

We had this same attitude against Florida Atlantic. They went to the final four.

Nor have I. Perhaps a link can be provided? Or some kind of context of what was said, and when? Otherwise, I am calling BS.

From the same guy that wants an 80,000 seat stadium, free tickets to every game, who claimed he was at a game where he made 40 posts, who had a conversation with a Hardgrave sock puppet and claimed it was real.

Just a guess here, but it could be the “sticker shock” crew still holding their grudge from the 2020 season. They been gone two seasons now, but some people can’t let it go. I guess they have never made a mistake in their life, so no one else is allowed to either….

It was a mistake for sure but I don't think RS has ever suggested it being a mistake.

I didn’t say he suggested it was a mistake - he was trying to do something to keep his team together in a crazy, tumultuous time. I think the university leadership probably told him it was a mistake. They came up with the Equality patch to replace it with more of the message they wanted to convey.
JMHO.

Was there ever an apology made by any player, any coach, or the school for supporting a far left Marxist run politically motivated racist organization that is no better than the German Nazi Party? No, there wasn't. They just all ducked their heads and melted away and just stopped talking about it.

That's why some of us haven't and won't let it go

You"re only talking two - three years ago - it's not ancient history.

No apology means they arent sorry and they don't see it as a mistake.

There was a very CLEAR and detailed explanation behind the motivation behind it, a very CLEAR description of its exact meaning and why the players wanted it.

The players and the admin have nothing to apologize for. What is beyond idiotic is you comparing our players to Nazis.

I know what the misunderstood rhetoric was.

I'm not comparing players to Nazis - I'm comparing the fascist Marxists that run BLM to Nazis.

Here is the problem - once the truth came out about what a politically motivated racist farce BLM was and is THAT is when the apologies become necessary. At least by the adults in the room - the school and the coaching staff and quite frankly the players.

No apology = I understand exactly what that organization and movement stand for and I support it.

There is no other way to interpret it. Just going silent and letting time pass hoping everyone will forget that **** show is a great strategy because it works on most of John Q Public.

It's ok to make misguided mistakes unless they weren't misguided and you never own them.

While i am not now nor would i ever try to minimize the action of the Nazis in WW2. Too often people focus on their evil and ignore the actions of everyone else.

While the final solution does raise their evil to a higher level than the rest. You cannot just ignore the actions of Russia and Japan.

Both committed atrocities that would sicken you to the pit of your stomach.

The truth is every governmental leader likely would have been charged with war crimes if their side lost. Including Churchill, Roosevelt, and Truman.

England was the first to actually target non-military civilian targets.

We killed more people firebombing civilians on Honchu than we killed in both nuclear bombs combined.

The Nazis came out looking as the great evil, partly because they were, and partly to take focus away from the other great evil. The communist.

Thanks to people like Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot between 100-150 million have died at the hands of communism.

I know this has gone wayyyyyyy off-topic. But it's not right to focus on one form of evil to divert attention away from another form of evil.

No apology doesn't mean they aren't sorry. They cannot apologize for the BLM stickers without offending the BLM crowd. The mistake they made was to pick a political side. They realized how that alienated part of the fan base, and quietly retired the stickers so as not to offend the other side.

It's a common political trick to try and get your opponent to make a statement supporting one side of a hotly debated issue, alienating the other. In this case, the UofM did it to themselves.

I don't know the politics of the person who owns Central BBQ, and I don't care. I just want to go there, get some BBQ, and enjoy it.

You are being ignorant. The admin and the players explained exactly why they were wearing the decals. It had nothing to do with the deplorable side of BLM. There are millions that endorse the spirit of BLM; which is that racism and bias are a factual part of their lives every day. They for sure weren't endorsing killing white people, killing police, destruction of the family, etc.

The players sure weren't playing politics and the admin and Silverfield came out with very detailed statements very specifically saying that there was zero political motivation and no endorsement of the marxist, socialist policies of some of the leaders.

The players had their hearts in the right place and that's all there is to it.

This! Veatch and Silverfield chose a political side. Apologizing doesn't change that. Veatch and Silverfield chose to politicize OUR team. I will not support them. I will always be a Tiger. I'm an alum. An alienated alum.

Both V and S are not from Memphis. Neither understand the make-up of our city. Neither accounted for the outcomes of supporting a Marxist organization. What great leadership! They both can go. I, and many others, are more vested in the university than these 2 clowns. They did not need to speak for us in 2020. They do not speak for us now.

RE: Memphis picked 3rd in American on ESPN FPI
The slogan and the organization aren’t one and the same. The slogan was gaining popularity long before the organization came along and adapted it for their own use. Which one do you guys honestly believe the players wanted to bring attention to? The slogan/rally cry or the organization?

Just a guess here, but it could be the “sticker shock” crew still holding their grudge from the 2020 season. They been gone two seasons now, but some people can’t let it go. I guess they have never made a mistake in their life, so no one else is allowed to either….

Eff "em.

Agree 100%

No apology doesn't mean they aren't sorry. They cannot apologize for the BLM stickers without offending the BLM crowd. The mistake they made was to pick a political side. They realized how that alienated part of the fan base, and quietly retired the stickers so as not to offend the other side.

It's a common political trick to try and get your opponent to make a statement supporting one side of a hotly debated issue, alienating the other. In this case, the UofM did it to themselves.

I don't know the politics of the person who owns Central BBQ, and I don't care. I just want to go there, get some BBQ, and enjoy it.

Any team or league that shows allegiance to a political party is moronic. So glad they noticed after the fact how they alienated at least half of the fan base. Of course you’re sorry when it starts to impact your pocketbook. Any businessman with a brain would have seen that coming.

Crowds down to 25K avg last season. Two losing seasons in-conference in a row & we still have this crap to debate because we still have the same AD who hides behind his memos & a coach that can't win.

Whether they individually or as a group endorsed that crap or not, by vocally, on social media, wearing helmet stickers, and don't forget the BLM practice t-shirts they did in fact support all of that stuff.

Once the deplorable truth about that organization come to light the ones that were sorry and disgusted should have said so.

I am not aware that a single coach, player, or administrator ever walked back their support of BLM.

Look, I respect your opinion and to each his own. But all they had to do was say, " Hey we didn't understand what was behind that movement and organization and who was behind it. We retract our support and sincerely apologize to all those who suffered because of this heinous group of people."

They didn't.

Case closed.

100-150 million people? That's right up there with the stickers!
