The Tiger Rugby Team has won an opportunity to represent Memphis in the National Collegiate Rugby Championship tournament in Washington, DC on April 28. We achieved this opportunity by winning the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference tournament, besting Auburn in a 7-minute overtime win.

The road to the finals was tough, but the Tigers prevailed. This spring we have won games over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, LSU, our nemesis Auburn and many other teams. We scored 629 points this year and only had 161 points scored against us. 18 wins and only two losses that were close, and those losses were against D1 teams.

I need to learn more about the rules about Rugby and Australian rules football. Need to find a sport to get into that hasn’t been corrupted by money and politics

Beat me to it. ESPN broadcast a lot of Australian Rules Football when they were first getting started and I became addicted to it.

I always loved the referees signal when someone scored. It was like he was in a gun fight with Billy the Kid and was trying to get the draw

I do not understand rugby, but from what little I have seen it is a physical game requiring great toughness.

Yes, it is club level team within the recreational department of UofM. They play in the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference Division 2 with Auburn, Georgia Tech, Miss St, Ole Miss, and Valdosta St.
