RE: benglas playoffs
Mahomes flopped and ossai tried to hold up, but that gets called every time.

Of course Hendrickson was held that play and their rg held that part too which was the only reason Mahomes got out of the pocket. One of the most one sided officiated games I've ever seen.
. Sucks. This is such a good, fun team

RE: benglas playoffs
Agree refs were horrible. But I really didn't like the timeout on our final drive after Hurst got 2 yds. Had to be FG or OT. This was the call that lost the game. Told my son it was going to cost them the game if they didn't convert. 48 secs left. No timeout there you run your next play at 30 secs or so with 2 timeouts...still time to get FG yardage and if not minimal time for KC. Zac blew this one.

RE: benglas playoffs
Ossai's play was the most CLF type of knuckle-headed defensive vapor lock play ever. Silly, unnecessary, and will get called every time. Never happens if they don't give up the Chiefs longest punt return of the season. Not sure why they didn't just kick it away from the guy. With a one legged Mahomes, that was about the only thing that could kill you in regulation.

How great was it to see Brian Cook get that deflection in single coverage leading to an INT after he got picked on a few times in coverage? Looking forward to epic Kelce v Kelce interviews leading up to the Super Bowl.

Should make the Bengals LB room a fun place this offseason.

Germain Pratt: "No, it’s not good. This the motherf---er’s last year. Why the f--- would you touch the quarterback," he screamed as he went into the locker room.

I wouldn’t go that far.

But we had the ball on our like 30-35 yard line after completing a long 3rd down with 56 seconds left and two timeouts.

As always, one can blame the refs but Bengals had everything right and front of them and didn’t get the job done or as noted had somewhat poor clock management not to be able to at least go to OT.

Onto next season

This is the thing that sticks in my crawl the most. 2 minutes to go with 2 timeouts and Burrow with the ball, and all you need is a FG? What else can you ask for?

Although I will say IMO the refs missed the roughing the passer penalty on Burrow which would have given them 15 more yards without taking anymore time off the clock at the start of that drive.

Hopefully that was just emotion. If not, Pratt needs to take it easy. Ossai played a much better overall game than Pratt I thought outside that one mistake.

Pratt the defensive possession before the last got in bad position on a tackle and got ran over by #10 allowing the Chiefs to go another 15-20 yards and get in scoring range.

He can thank the rest of the defense and KC for facking up and not converting any points on the drive.

I didn't even see that report. Every report I saw was the Bengals locker room rallying around Ossai in support.

Here's a video going around of the post game interivew

OMG that is too funny. BJ Hill is awesome here. Ossai was flying around all game, loved his performance until this flag.

Just heat of the moment emotional damage (insert mental meme here). Everything else I've seen is highly supportive of Ossai including Zac's postgame comments. I couldn't even make out what he was saying in the beginning about "last year". The only thing that makes sense that I can think of is that it's his (Pratt's) last year with the Bengals as he's a free agent and the Bengals have a lot of guys looking to get paid.

Pratt had a surprisingly good year and I'd like to have him back from a performance standpoint, but he's probably gone unless he takes a significant discount over what he might get in the open market.

Following up on that:

My interpretation: He knows he's probably gone and it's not likely it will be to a place that's in as good of a position to have future SB runs in them. This was maybe his best shot going forward. I don't blame him for being upset right after the game.

By the way, FWIW, I think Ossai is going to have a big year next year if he's healthy and gets the chance...

i like Pratt a lot and hope he comes back. There's something to be said about experience in the system and chemistry. i'm interested in seeing what the market is like for him. Perhaps he's grossly underrated but i don't hear his name when discussed with top LBs. if put to the choice of slightly more money vs. the opportunity to win and continuity, i wonder where his head will be at.

Yeah the memes and comments about the Bengals getting screwed by the officiating are/were everywhere (and not just from Bengal fans.) I've seen officials get roasted for a bad call on a specific key play, but rarely have I seen them get this roasted for a series of bad calls basically all in one direction. #NFLrigged is still the top trend on my twitter.

RE: benglas playoffs
Bottom line is if we want to get back we can’t lose games to Pittsburgh and Cleveland in the regular season. Their only way back to the SB is to be the 1 seed.

***Mark, you’re the stats guy. I’d love to know:

1.) What’s the winning percentage for home teams in the playoffs.
2.) What’s the winning percentage for the home team in the championship game
3.) what’s the percentage of 1 seeds that go to the SB

Winning on the road with the way refereeing is anymore is almost impossible.
