And you want to be hired by CC his track record of his assistants getting promoted is impressive.

They call EMU the "Cradle of (assistant) coaches."

I believe our TE coach came from U of M. I think our DL coach to replace our recent loss may be from the ranked FCS ranks. Not sure at all about LB coach.

In 2019 he was paid $162,000
There are a lot of MAC assistant coaches who are working for peanuts (I almost said potatoes, but resisted).
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nc...891767002/
Again, this emphasizes the point I make about MAC schools, esp. EMU, having limited resources to compete with the big boys.
Steve, you speak the truth.
Chuck Martin took a pay cut from his coordinator job at Notre Dame to become the HC at Miami.
Sean Lewis leaves his HC job at Kent State to become the OC at Colorado, hardly one of the P5 big money programs.

Needham and Johnson are co-DCs. They announced that when they announced Neathery was retiring.

Correct I think they adding a recruiting office a linebacker coach and now a DT coach. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong on this.

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2022
From Chris Vannini of the Athletic:
Why doesn’t Chris Creighton at Eastern Michigan get more attention during the head coach carousel, especially when jobs like Purdue open up? He’s won consistently in some difficult places going all the way back to his days at Wabash College? — Michael M.
Creighton’s 46-61 overall record at EMU, lack of Power 5 experience and lack of a breakthrough 10-win-type season combine to hold him back, even if I completely disagree with this concept. Creighton just produced the second nine-win season in EMU history, he’s brought unprecedented success to one of the toughest jobs in the country and he’s won everywhere he’s been.
But that’s the theory that permeates with a lot of decision-makers. You’d think the P5 success of Lance Leipold and Chris Klieman would change that, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Ty wants to try head coaching again and perhaps was uneasy about the situation in Denver. I would presume this is a pay cut, but it does provide some security and a chance to rehab his resume' after Morgan St. Good dude, I hope he puts down roots.

Thank his tenure at Morgan State was a disaster.

Steve, I do not. 5-18, however, is not going to get you many looks from the FBS, despite the program's less than storied history. Call it the "Creighton Syndrome".
I saw Ty Wheatley in a spring game at U-M. Local guy, he was far larger than the other backs, yet was so much faster. The only other player with that kind of physical gifts I have seen was Bo Jackson. He was "jaw dropping". His NFL career may have been unspectacular, but Ty lasted TEN years as an NFL running back, with his best occurring late in his career. He was not Zeke Elliott.
In Ann Arbor, our cable TV ops feature WSU games and I watch them frequently. I saw our transfer Karmi Macky not be very effective at WSU. I hope Ty will energize the program, and the kid from Inkster makes good. Just me thinking...

Great individual. Eventually he will move up in his young coaching career.

I watched, in person, Honward vs. Morgan State. Program was in a bad place.
I'm not sure of how his leaving happened but I can check if anyone is interested. I know people who are HBCU insiders.
