It is predestined so it will happen.

And apparently I’m predestined to be late to the joke, so all I can offer is the official announcement:

Even though I'm a native Texan who's never been to California at all, I sure hope so. (My mom lived in 29 Palms for a bit as a teenager.) And I hope it's not just public schools either. In fact, I believe that if Pacifc had kept football, they'd at least be in the MWC right now.

Schriener University To Start Football In 2025

Schriener is a D3 school in Texas in the SCAC. It seems that the SCAC will reinstate football and have Lyon as an affiliate in football. McMurray is moving to this conference as well.

WV Tech used to have football before they were taken over by West Virginia University, and relocated to Beckley (to the old Mountain State University campus), where there has never been a football field.

I think WV Tech might be thinking of going to D2 with the rest of the West Virginia schools.

Maine Maritime Academy has a plan to restore the football program that was suspended at the height of the pandemic:

Quote:MMA will field sub-varsity competition through 2024 before joining the Division III Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2025. The school also announced Monday a search is underway for its next head coach.

https://www.pressherald.com/2023/01/09/m...l-program/

Maine Maritime is small (under 1,000 students) and predominantly male. But you're going to pay for your college education within like 3 years of graduating.

Talladega College has made noise about possibly starting a football program. They just announced that they will begin sponsoring women’s gymnastics, which could serve as a Title IX balance.

Talladega was one of the original members of the SIAC and was briefly an HBCU power. It would be something if they end up back in the SIAC playing football again after 85-ish years.

A .org web site is a big, quick red flag. Bible school accreditation only. They've got a ways to go before they can legitimately talk about NAIA membership.

Roanoke College (VA) is considering adding football if fundraising goals are met by June 1st. Start year would likely be 2025 if it does happen.

$1.2 million in a month and a half is an aggressive goal, I wonder if they already have a lot of the money pledged or a big donor willing to supply a lot of it.
