RE: Matt Brown Reporting Delay of EA College Football
FCS schools are contractually prohibited from lending their likeness to a competing football product if they want to eventually be in any EA Sports properties....

The games has been gone so long. I just don’t care anymore.

Until at least 2030, I think? EA has an exclusive licensing arrangement for "simulation" college football games, which schools have to agree to in order to participate.

2K makes better games anyway. I wish they would bundle college hoops within the NBA game. That would be insane.

I can see FBS teams doing it, but I have yet to see EA really try to do FCS justice. I am talking about including the FCS playoffs also. That's what I am trying to get Maximum Football to do. If these FCS fans would quit clamoring to be a part of EA all the time, and would go with someone like Maximum Football instead, I believe it would go better for both FCS and Maximum Football. As for EA, they would lose a monopoly, but it’s their own fault for not doing anything with FCS, IMO.

Ha, I was half hoping we'd get a remake of the Doug Williams HBCU Experience game that was as much Guitar Hero for the bands as a football game. Not a great football game, but you can buy it from the X-box store as a legacy game, and it's fun to play here and there.

Have you played maximum football? It would have been a really bad football game 20 years ago. The lack of licensing isn't it's issue.

And the way I see it, they're telling fcs schools not to license their rights away because ea is going to want to get all of D1 when they re-launch their college basketball game.

While I don't care for the NBA, I would try 2K sports college basketball by itself. I imagine EA had something to do with no college basketball too!!

I have a feeling the full FCS experience will be available as DLC for $20 or something. I'm not really a fan of having to pay for that sort of stuff, but if they eventually license D2 and D3, I'd pay for it. Play D3 and continue the Mount Union dynasty or build a small school into a D3 powerhouse that is getting calls from D2. Work your way all the way up to P5.

I don't mean to be rude, but the quality of MF is...pretty horrific.

No offense taken, but you have to remember: EA has been doing college football for years. MF designers are rookies, plus they had to creatively not touch NIL (ie avoid lawsuits with college football players). Given what they had to work with at the time, I'm impressed!!
