I'd add Baylor to that list as well. I've seen Bear2b2 post fairly regularly. (Ugh, I'm defending Baylor). Also have seen some West Virginia posters on a somewhat regular basis.

The challenge you're going to have in getting posters from the older schools is that most of them are on boards dedicated to their schools and don't really post on boards dedicated to the entire conference. Kansas fans especially, they tend to think very highly of themselves.

You have to remember, that prior to the whole OUT announcement there wasn't a ton of B12 conference pride - there was some, but not a lot. We went through a pretty rough period (mostly due to Texas) where the conference was dragged through the mud with realignment and the media and when we tried to push back that burnt orange cow in Austin would throw us under the bus and remind us we were privileged they were still gracing us with their presence. These past couple of years are the first time I've ever seen this much unity/alignment from the "hateful eight" B12 schools. I love it, but it's a new thing for our conference.

All that to say, keep trying and give it time. This just isn't something the general fan bases in the Big 12 are used to.

I only stumbled onto this board b/c someone (might have been you BraveKnight) posted about it in a TCU dedicated board and I came over out of curiosity. I also wanted to learn more about the new schools and your traditions, rivalries, cultures, etc. There are definitely more fans out there like myself from the remaining 8 schools. We just have to find them and convince them to give this board a chance.
Great points, my vision for this place is to have perspectives from all the B12 schools, and have game threads and analysis from all the different posters from all the schools. I’ve been on almost every team’s message boards, but some of the schools are a lot harder to attract than others.

(And yes that was almost definitely me that attracted you here, I went on a campaign last year/early this year to attract new posters from B12 schools, TCU was one of the places I visited).

Been here off and on since 2006 04-rock

Looking back in my history, looks like I probably initially joined to engage NIU fans on the NIU and/or MAC board when TCU was gearing up to play the Huskies and Garrett Wolfe in the Poinsettia Bowl. Man TCU shut him down :-)

I read many different boards, and saw a UCF fan inviting the Raider's here to this board. First step by them was to attack UCF for claiming a 2017 championship by telling them they should have earned a chance to play for it. Raider arrogance at it's finest. At least there were some nice posters there, and would not mind seeing those ones here. Maybe. They don't like TCU either.

Wolfe was a great back. I'd forgotten all about him.

Northern Illinois was a good program for a long time. I remember rooting for Jordan Lynch's team in its BCS bowl against Florida State. They just weren't on that level unfortunately.

I can finally post!

It took like 2.5 months to get my account approved, lol. Probably not good for board growth.

That was the biggest thing that drove Iowa State fans away. We have our own much more popular fan forum.

Cincinnati has a very popular team board as well. We also have a big following on the teams site here and many posters use both.

CSNBBS is great for conference talk though and general sports discussions. I asked for my first account to be removed a couple years back so this is my second account. I have been on here as a user since about ‘07 and reading on here since about ‘05.

It was a great for the Big East, American, and hopefully more Big 12 members come over as we solidify in ‘23.

Bearcat Journal over @ 247.

Outside that I would say here is second most and then bearcatnews. There’s a lot of UC folk on CSNBBS just most are staying on Cincinnati’s team site Bearcat Banter or the American Conference board likely until bball is over. Once football gets moving next fall their will be a lot of UC, UCF, Houston people headed over here is my guess.

Are we sure we want more BYU message board posters? Some I see on the other sites are pretty....what's the word....wacky? 03-lmfao

The main BYU board (cougarboard.com) is very active with all kinds of crazies, and there is several minor boards or previous conference boards that love to bash BYU and a handful of long-time posters there that probably wouldn't change over. But I fully expect as we get into a season on board that sites that have active relevant information will naturally attract more. Especially as the schedule starts to get published and people start getting excited for the integration.

I agree. If a computer poll would rank them number one after a season it would have been magically justified. Plus Auburn beat Alabama that year which gives the claim "some" merit.

If y’all could go ahead and invite my Texas State bobcats to the Big12, I would make sure all 15 of us posters moved over to this board as well.

We’ll send a signed Paul Goldschmidt baseball to make it worth the while.

I have moved from the UC board because I was secretly suspended because on the UC board if you disagree with the Lord High Moderator you are toast.

Thankful to be here.

We all are glad to be in B12. I am not expecting miracles from our teams but in every conference we eventually quickly became competitive and eventually rose to the top. That said I fully understand the B12 journey will be harder than the BE and AAC were.

In BB Wes Miller is in his second year and has recruited some good talent in 2022 and has sighed several top 100's for 2023. Time will tell.

In football Luke Fickle quit on the team late in the year and then just quit to WI. Satterfield has done a decent job of getting transfers and keeping about half of the recruits. He was left in a tough spot by Luke Fickle.

Honestly, in my experience in a few roles on this site, I say let them come and the culture of the board will sort out the rest. Lean on the mods to maintain the order, and you can allow all people from all of our teams to come here and chat. It certainly won't always be civil, but it usually tends to bring more entertainment than it does headache. I look back fondly on when the whole P6 narrative started and the AAC was feeling good about itself. There were a lot of things that went wrong for this website as a whole during that time period, but in the end it was managed and I think the AAC board and their members benefitted from it. The popularity of the boards have always been marked by dramatic milestones (anyone remember the Marshall student with a fondness for carrots?), that bring people together. If you get fans of one team to willingly watch games of other teams in conference, that's usually a good sign.

As a newby I seem to be picking up a vibe that some people consider TCU to have an unwarranted high opinion of itself. Perhaps I misinterpreted.

They did have a remarkable story until the last game. Mentally a loss by 2 TD's is easier to deal with than a loss by one score. But losing by 8 scores is really special.

There are records which will never be broken such as MLB two no hitters in a row, Pete Rose all-time hits, etc. and now losing the CFP Final by 58.

I don't get that vibe at all. Disappointment, sure, but I think the vibe is: at least they made it. They also knocked out the B1G champs. Can't take that away from them. Oklahoma got their butts kicked in the playoff plenty of times. They never advanced to the championship game. Baby steps. We'll get there.

Obviously I'm very biased here, but I don't think TCU fans/alumni have a super high opinion of ourselves. We had been down for a few years so the resurgence of the program out of left field I think took a lot of people who don't follow TCU by surprise. We've had a strong program since Patterson took over, minus those last few years before he left, so if anything I saw a lot of TCU people cheering being back at the level that Patterson had us at when we won the Rose Bowl or in 2014 when we should have made the playoff.

We live in a "what have you done for me now" society. So when people started paying attention to TCU again for the first time in a long time they may have felt some fans/alumni were a little entitled by saying we were "back". But we also finished #2 in 2010 after that Rose Bowl win and we finished #3 in 2014 when we got snubbed for the Playoff. I think most of the alumni/fan base were happy to see the program back at the level of Patterson's glory days more than being entitled. Most TCU fans I know don't think super highly of themselves. I will admit we became accustomed to having a successful football program under Patterson and root for that success again.

Although, getting to rub our Playoff appearance (and win) in the face of entitled Texas fans and that cult at A&M is certainly a plus. 03-thumbsup
