You don't know this as fact. You have no clue what's going on with coaching decisions or behind the scenes with the team. This is merely opinion. Again, if Penny is so dead set on running off players, why does he continue to recruit players in positions that compete with the "East" guys?

Penny can recruit consistent top 10 classes but can't or won't recruit a top pure PG? Really, just do a little critical thinking. And BTW, you never did reply to my question given the stats you quoted, do you want Alo with the ball in his hands for tight, late game situations?

That's why we have Davis on the team? You really are something else.

01-wingedeagle

P.S.

You're funny. You fail to address most direct questions and then come back saying I never answered you? You are the poster child for not backing up statements that you present as fact. To answer your question, because I'm accommodating like that, I'm happy with Lomax having the ball in his hands for tight, late game situations. He's a solid FT shooter and he's been very selective and consistent this year with his shooting. Davis is so streaky, it's difficult to know if his shot will even go in. His bread and butter is high volume attempts, and unfortunately very low percentage. When he's on, he's fantastic, but he also goes very cold and the numbers prove my case. If Davis is shooting well, I would rather him drive the offense, but to pretend what I say is not true, is merely further evidence of your cognitive dissonance.

P.P.S.

Time for you to put up or shut up. Now answer my question. Who is the better defender among our guards?

He is also a big part of us getting blitzed from 3 each game (this game especially). He doesn't close out on shooters because he would rather go for steals by cheating to the paint.

I've mentioned this time & again. He was today, just like many games in the past, the defender running at the guy shooting a 3 because he had sloughed off so far. He is also the guy who gets easily screened at the top of the key. I agree Alo has some good qualities but many here refuse to see his limitations and the bias shown to play him major minutes when better talent is sitting on the bench over his career. Why not develope that better talent to the team's benefit rather than run it off?

Emoni Bates comes to mind.

And maybe Boogie Ellis & all the pure PGs we couldn't or didn't recruit over Penny's first several years (one from Memphis comes to mind).

I don’t follow recruiting very closely, but I can not remember a year we weren’t in on/didn’t offer a top point guard.

Read what you wrote again. I quoted it below my response. If that's not attributing significant blame, you need remedial English classes. You absolutely are attributing significant blame to him for both our challenges with defense and even acquisition, utilization, and retention of players. It really is something incredible.

If his defense so awful, who on this team is the better defender as a guard? Please enlighten us from the Peach State.

To put significant blame on Lomax for our deficiencies in perimeter defense is hilarious. He's our strongest defender among the guards, has been shooting more consistently, and isn't the reason why we lose games. In this game he tied with Davis for assists, had double the steals, half the turnovers, and shot 66.7% from the field to Davis's 30%. Only a select group of our "special" fans can't see the value he brings and continue to dump on him. Even CUSA_NEWS has been smart enough to lay off. What does that say about you?

lomax was 2 of 3

Does it change the shooting percentage? Davis only made six buckets from 20 attempts and was 0-6 from three. Pretty crappy if you ask me. How many times did Davis just throw it away with his shot attempts, wasting possessions through horrible shooting? Do the math. By shooting the ball 7 times more than Lomax, he only made double the points. How about this statistic? Lomax is 45.5% on the season to Davis's 39%. Davis also can't touch Lomax's defense. Do you feel better for attempting to illustrate a perceived shortcoming?

you have to post the truth behind the number

i worked in finance, so i can make the numbers say whatever you want them to say

Right, and I've made that point before, so I understand and agree with you. Nevertheless, it took seven times the shot attempts to essentially double the points for Davis. As a finance guy, that's not significant? What about the season numbers?

It’s somewhat hilarious to compare their stats. They don’t get/take the same shots nor do they play the same roll.

It's hilarious that you choose one stat. What about the other stats? Furthermore, I'm not saying that Lomax is our best player. I still believe Davis is our best player. I'm merely defending him against the cadre of fools who continue to act like he doesn't deserve to be a starter and attribute most of the team's ills on him. Are you among that group?

Not sure about the "Kao is the Key" OP but I would like to see him start. Who knows ... He can neutralize the other teams centers with his height, span and athleticism. He's getting better !!!

No he didn’t. We got Lomax instead, starting with about 12 minutes or so to go. The team immediately started playing much worse and we pissed a 10+ point lead away. I have no explanation or rationale as to why he did not play.

When did CPH sub Lomax in at forward? I thought he started both halves at guard.
I did, however, notice that Williams played the entire 2nd half and was exhausted. It would have been nice to sub in for him and give him a break at some point.

Some interesting stats for Kao:

-FG% - 75% (1st on team)
-Turnovers - 4 (1st)
-Turnovers per 40 minutes - 1.1 (2nd)
-Player Efficiency Rating - 18.4 (4th)
-True Shooting % - 67% (1st)
-Effective Field Goal % - 75% (1st)
