Yeah 6'5 300 OT out of Houston. We have offered him along with half of the known FBS world. What it does mean is that we are still looking for experienced OL either at the JUCO level (most of those OL we offered have gone elsewhere) or the transfer portal.

Yeah, it is almost impossible to get a handle on recruiting now as it is a free-for-all in the transfer market.

It's not like these recruits (transfers) have been recruited for many months or more.

Can you address where we stand vis-a-vis linebackers? Posters suggest we switch out of the 4 2 5 but need more LBs, esp. outside backers to do so.

Haven't seen much activity in the LB position. Perhaps some of the DBs on the roster will be converted. Or the actual type of defensive scheme is still wide open for next year.

Just my thought (agree or disagree).

At this stage in the recruiting cycle and with a large frosh class signed, I would be surprised to see us go for h.s. seniors in February. As we know, the Feb JUCO and transfer portal is really good for filling holes which opened late because of losses to the portal.

Agree. Honestly, today I would question why you would sign a whole lot of freshmen. You might find a Chase Brown or Carson Steele but once they find out how good they are, they are waving goodbye and heading off to the P5. By contrast, you can snag a Samson Evans, Jaylon Jackson or Terry Locket out of the portal with their transfer wings clipped.

Thanks. If we had not let you and Buffalo run all over us this year, it might have been epic.

EMU just offered kicker punter Brian Kolodziejczyk out of Wood Dale IL. Curious as to whether our current kicker or [/align]punter is leaving?

Gosh I hope not but Lefty Gomez would have to be awfully P5 attractive if he were to enter the portal. Best to have some insurance.

You're acting like the guy is in a five-star
The Kicker we offered is a five-star kid
Half of his highlights are 63 yard field goals
He's obviously better than Jesus
Not that Jesus is bad, because he isn't, he's really damn good
But if there's a better option then you go with the better option

He would be the first five star in the history of the Mid-American Conference for football
To say the least, the guy is really good at kicking the football

I wonder if he would make the same impact as 5 * Emoni Bates made for basketball?

I see and respect your point about the 63-yard field goals. But:

Chad Ryland had arguably a stronger leg than Jesus. In his first two seasons, he was 3-4 from over 50 yards and a stellar 6-9 in his EMU career. Long leg for sure.

Chad, however, broke a lot of EMU hearts with a 4-13 performance from less than 39 yards in his first two seasons. He was a major component in EMU leading the NCAA in one possession losses as many of those close misses came at crunch time. One could suggest the long ball kicker choked when it counted.

I simply find little to complain about Gomez's performance in his first season. Also, I do remember Jim Harbaugh sleeping over to recruit the five-star recruit, Quinn Nordin. Quinn had a long leg, but walk-on Jake Moody ended up putting him on the pine. 63-yard field goals are nice, but Jesus has been great.

Jesus has proven himself. Let's if five star signs with us. I believe in NIU has also offered True Jesus and Mitch weren't rated 5 star but sure played that way.
