It is not a short distance, it is a lot of uphill, and safety could be a concern.

I have done the downhill walk from campus to the Riverfront a few times, but I always take a cab/Uberback. Uphill is tough.

This is my last weekend prior to the Houston Marathon (half marathon route). I'll let you take a guess what route I will be running Saturday morning. 04-cheers

Note : This week is only 6 miles. I did my last long distance run this past weekend.

Alright you pinche gatos osos, buddy of mine and I are headed y'all's way this weekend.

Currently we plan on checking out the Reds' stadium on Saturday and either hitting up the Underground Railroad Museum or a distillery tour at New Riff. Thoughts? Lunch and dinner options are open, as well as late night shenanigans.

Sunday go see Bengals tailgating in the morning and then walk to campus. Lunch at Skyline and then chill at a bar until closer to tip. Post game, no idea.

Might drop by Hall of Justice at some point to check out the architecture.

We both fly out Monday. Thoughts? Reserved an Airbnb downtown.

Note : I get in late Friday, but the buddy of mine gets in Friday afternoon. Anywhere you would suggest he go to hang out/see in the evening?

You aren’t planning on walking to UC campus from Downtown, are you? I wouldn’t. The northern part of OTR is pretty tough and still in the early stages of gentrification. Plus it’s gonna be cold (for you) and rainy. It’s a nice climb as well.

my favorite place around campus is duttenhofer books on west mcmillan. i doubt i'll (no offense) ever find myself in houston but on the chance i should happen to, used book store recommendations are always welcome. i hope we're competitive on the glass come sunday

Northside - down the hill from Clifton - is Cincy’s gritty liberal neighborhood littered with dive bars - some of which you’ll prolly not want to enter. The Comet is prolly the fave - not sure if they still do bluegrass on Sunday nights. Northside Tavern isn’t all that divey , but it’s full of hipsters with attitude and other locals. Shake it Records is a popular spot. Good Nepali restaurant, Bridges. Melt and Ruth’s if you’re seeking vegetarian. Urban Artifact is a micro brewery housed in an old Catholic church and is known for its sour beers. Other bars and eats as well.

Morning y'all!

So a few observations post morning run:

1. Yall were not kidding about the hill up Vine. Great for training, but annoying in most other situations. ?

2. The rough area yall spoke of looked pretty standard for what I've experienced in lower income neighborhoods. Not too bad.

3. Y'alls campus is interesting. A lot of variety when it comes to layout, geography, and architecture. I like it.

Anyway, hope yall have a great Saturday and here's to no injuries tomorrow.

Also, doesn't feel that cold. So dry compared to Houston.

That's Cincinnati suburbanites talking. I've done the walk up that hill and haven't felt unsafe. Glad you made it in safely. Hope you have a great time and leave disappointed.

Where are you sitting?

You sound like the kind of person that would really enjoy the Findlay Market area in OTR. The street car will drop you right at the front door......

It's been about three years since I went to Findlay Market, but there used to be a Vietnamese restaurant there I really enjoyed. Is it still around?

Where are you sitting?

It’s a high crime area.
A visitor like den2010 wouldn’t necessarily be aware of that.
Everyone can make their own decisions, but you need to be informed to be able to make decisions.

Best wishes for a nice visit. And like Mark said, I hope you leave the game disappointed02-13-banana

I hope you have an enjoyable time and that everyone you meet is friendly. I hope you enjoy your accommodations and I hope you enjoy all the food and vodka you'd like. I hope you find the arena. And if I see you in the arena, I will shake your hand and buy you coffee.

But understand what will happen. Prepare yourself for what's coming.

Because Cincinnati is going to reign. Oh my God. Is Houston ready for what's about to happen? The punishment the Cougars are about to take is unprecedented. The Bearcats are going to clobber Houston and throw daggers into them so deep, the scars may never heal. This is what you've signed up to see.

I've accepted 1-3 conference losses, and know my record when attending roadies is quite poor. If the loss happens, I'm alright with it.

Most of the rough part of Vine in OTR has been bought up by 3CDC, which is responsible for developing most south of Liberty
