My advice would be to rent a place. Through no fault of BV’s, this whole staff could be canned at the conclusion of next season.

Hey, it's a paycheck. I tend to agree with FN - he's replacing an OC who got thrown to the wolves. The next step is generally sacking the HC and his staff. BV isn't going to get a lot of quality players to work with.

Possibly, but probably more likely they hand that interim duty to Rocky Long, back as DC. He is New Mexico’s all-time wins leader and a 3-time MWC coach of the year. I don’t see them giving the role to an assistant with a 7-6 career record over one who has 145 career wins. But you never know …

Long’s Wikipedia page says he is now DC at Syracuse.

Mark Stoops became Kentucky’s winningest coach this year when he surpassed Bear Bryant’s mark of 60. He is now at 66.

I don't know how long remained on his contract. If he was paid a buyout he might take a season off and go wherever Clark goes next season.

Your point is well taken, though - win that many games coaching a school not known for winning and you get hired away. Unless you're as bad as Watson was.
