The opportunities that await:
Monday, Dec. 26, 1:30 p.m. CST, Quick Lane Bowl, Bowling Green vs. New Mexico State
Tuesday, Dec. 27, 11 a.m. CST, Camelia Bowl, Buffalo vs. Georgia Southern
Friday, Dec. 30, 3:30 p.m. CST, Arizona Bowl, Ohio vs. Wyoming
MAC could sweep these if Buffalo finds their mid-season stride.
Didn't Miami kick off bowl season with a loss to UAB?
Correct 24-20. Miami was stopped on the two yard line on the final play.
MAC is 2-1 so far.
I think he meant that the MAC could sweep its remaining bowl games. A potential 5-1 mark this season would be nice for conference perception.

That would be nice, even 4-2 would look pretty shiny. Going to be fun to watch the remaining MAC bowls.

I read this board a lot but very seldom comment.
I will, however, do so now. This is the MOST knowledgeable bunch of folks in the MAC! Be proud guys, you are great!

+1 Nice win by Buffalo. Fun game to watch! So far a great showing by the MAC, even in the losses. Miami game ended with them on the 2 (shades of 2021 Huskies) and the close BGU loss may have been a different result except for an NMS cheap shot that took the BGU QB out of the game in the first quarter. Need an Ohio win...

Just wondering when we admit that perhaps the MAC comparatively got better among themselves and NIU seems to be having good players transfer for better situations. And there isn’t much anyone can do about it right now.

Just to ease your worry...no, the MAC didn't get comparatively better. The MAC is still the bottom conference in FBS and the West was the worser of the two divisions in the worst conference.
Don't let a few exhibition games cloud your perception.
Because if these games are predictive or telling of anything, then that means New Mexico State can be competitive in the MAC and that's not a good sign.

Yet, New Mexico State was invited to join Conference USA and no one from the MAC got an invite.

After watching some of these bowl games, it makes make realize that we weren’t the worst conference in college football after all. Love seeing our conference compete and win. We need to be back in this hunt next year .

I don’t think the MAC was good, but slightly better as a whole than many gave them credit for . That said, they got some real gifts in bowl games when I did some research for my bowl pool with guys hurt, sitting out and transfers. Worst matchup so far was a “ hungry” NMST. team that shouldn’t have been in a bowl.
But what I was pointing out is that the MAC was used to losing bowls, including NIU who was winning the West regularly and the MACC on occasion and losing bowls outside of Orange vs. a couple dozen future NFL draftees. I posted previously how there has been parity (mediocrity) the last 3 non Covid years. No one is dominating with teams an divisions outside Akron hovering around .500. I think some if that correlates to NIU. falling some, this year. Teams are getting better comparatively in conf, slightly better as whole, NIU had injury issues and are getting hurt with portal in that good players are getting better offers.

Offers are generally not made public until negotiations behind the scenes confirm that an offer will be accepted.
Also almost always transfers to a new conference are based on money. More money for the conference and more money for the schools. The new CUSA media contract will net the schools only about $700,000 each. Less than the MAC contract today while also increasing travel expenses. It also requires most of their October games to be played during the week. Would any MAC school want to give up October Saturday games to get November Saturday games back?
None of this proves anything about strength of conferences on the field but I believe based on guaranteed revenue and membership stability I am glad NIU is in the MAC and not CUSA.
