I am a very patient man. Sometimes, I control my anger. But sometimes, patience runs thin, even with good men. I have never claimed to be a good man. You see, I could have sympathy for a blind person. But I have no sympathy for someone who has two good eyes and has failed to see what they have done.

Because the basketball players on Detroit Mercy don't understand what they're dealing with. You're dealing with the kind of opponent that will do anything. For any reason. Detroit Mercy, you have given the Bearcats a very special reason. You took one hell of a shot. You took your best shot. I didn't think you had the guts to take the shot you took.

But tons of fans will be in Cincinnati's corner tonight. Those fans will be hungry. But not near as hungry as the Bearcats! Many times, one team has beaten the other team badly, and sometimes that team felt bad about it. But it is hard to apologize to a defeated team. The Bearcats aren't defeated, and they do not accept apologies. But if I have my way, the Bearcats will feel bad about what they are going to do to you. I've been laying awake thinking about it. At night. And a cold sweat comes up and down my back. The sweat comes into my face, and it starts to burn my eyes.

The shot you took last time was good, but it wasn't good enough. When Cincinnati and Detroit Mercy meet in the biggest game of the year, all those nights I thought about this game, all the minutes of every day, it's coming to a head. And it's coming into my head that the Bearcats will do exactly what they want to do for a long time, and that's drop a greasy dirtball of a basketball team that has the guts to tell people that they are the kings of college basketball.

So now, just show up. Because if you have the guts to show up to the game, then the Bearcats will have something special for you. Detroit Mercy, you're time is coming soon.

That was a lot of effort by Tom Campusano for such a wimpy opponent.

It's so odd. I've never seen schtick like this last so long. He even killed off one of his personalities. Hopefully He/She gets a good laugh out of it.

Rough shooting 1st half. Luckily Lahkin and Oguama came to play. They had a combined 9-12 for 18 points and 9 boards.

Some switch flipped for Oguama at the Xavier game...he looks like a completely different player. Vik's progression has been impressive...Mike Roberts clearly knows what he's doing as a bigs coach.

Detroit gave them a ton of open 3s. They threw up bricks. I think they'll stretch this out of Detroit defends the same way.

They definitely had some good looks, some of which were airballed, just a cold shooting half. Hopefully they even it out in the 2nd.

DeJulius is absolutely clamping the nation's leading scorer...this has been incredibly impressive defensively tonight.

Really quiet gamethread today. Not a great shooting night overall 6-34 (17.6%) from three, but they still won by 18. Lahkin with career highs in points and rebounds with 18 and 15 respectively. He was unstoppable all night.

Lahkin 18 pts, 15 boards. I think they said those were both career highs.
