He was a really bad fit for how Arizona State wanted to use him. Seems like a perfect fit for Satterfield's offense. Showed some great flashes at Florida. This is a huge signing at a huge position of need next season.

Looking at his stats...his TD to INT ratio is not great. He ran for a lot of yards at FLA but nearly nothing at ASU. Can you still be dual threat?

ASU ran basically our offense from last year, just without the deep threats. They weren't running their QB...Jones can still run when asked, and he will be in this offense.

ASU had a bad offensive line and insisted on using him as a pocket passer. He was sacked 21 times this year, despite not being the full time QB (all but one were in the 6 games he played against P5 competition). He was a bad fit for that offense and it was a bad offense with a terrible line to begin with.

Florida actually used as a duel threat QB in 2021 and he ran for 759 yards, through for 2734. His INTS were too high, but Satterfield did a great job with Cunningham. I think he's a great fit for what Satterfield wants to do.

Anyone know why he only started 7 games? Injury or was he splitting time with someone?

When Herm Edwards got canned the OC and interim HC moved on to another QB.

According to Satts presser there will be a few more we are currently unaware about today. Have already sent in papers but he and UC are awaiting to announce as they have ceremonies with their families or schools this afternoon/evening.

We want Emory Jones in this program at current state, during transition year, for Satts offense, competition, etc. No doubt about it! We ain’t getting Caleb Williams you nuts.

ASU's bad OL hopefully improved after Herm got fired. Went from 3 sacks a game with Jones under center to about 1 a game with the guy who took over the job the last 5 weeks.

He'll be an improvement over Prater but next year could be rough.

My guess is that's Kamari Burns and Manny Covey...have yet to be announced but are considered to be solid commits here.

So we have three 4 star QB's. Never before in Bearcat history.

My search of Emory Jones had a lot of hits that made it look like IU thought they had him.

HA HA!! ... Again !!!

Not sure whether to put this here, or in the transfer tracker thread.

Ben Bryant is apparently going to play a 6th season.

That's somewhat surprising. Not just because of his injury, but he's not the type of QB (dropback) that would seem to fit in a Satterfield offense.

I'm happy to hear that he's going to give UC another year. I'll admit, BB was not my first choice in the Spring but played well given the O line and OC issues he had to deal with. Agree that he doesn't seem to fit CSS's offense but that says a lot about the young man's maturity and willingness to be a true Bearcat. If he doesn't win the job again, he's here to help mentor and teach the young guns. That's a pretty cool thing in today's age. Best of luck BB and heal quickly.

I mean it makes sense. He keeps getting the medical care while on the team so if his injury takes a while to heal (which it sounds like, it will), he’ll still get to be with the team and work on a graduate degree.
