Apparently UC and UL will be sharing the same sideline:

They'll have a 10 foot high electric fence with razor wire separating them.

Or a clear plastic box containing Coach Satterfield.

I don't think I like that.

As of now he is UC's HC. So I think he should be there in some capacity.

I get it that it is a weird and awkward situation.

But as the UC HC he should be thee.

I get what you're saying, but I disagree. I think it speaks to his character and sets an example for the current team that he respects the individual players too much to turn on them and coach against them a week after being their coach. If he coached against them I think it creates hate on the other sideline and sends the wrong message to our team that he would be willing to flip on them so quickly.

I don't disagree with anything you said.

You made great points.

I have mixed feelings, but initially tend to feel he should work for his current employer.

I get it and I'm OK with it. He's going to be working for us full-time starting now, just not coaching the game. I just posted in a new thread that UL will be coached by their first-year director of player development so I'm not sure how many, if any, of Satterfield's coaches he wants to bring to UC will be hanging around to coach in the game or even any further prep.

We need him talking to the current players, reaching out to all the recruits, recruiting new players, looking at the portal, and building out his staff. Don’t need him coaching in some minor bowl game. Having these two teams facing each other and on the same side line after what just happened is a recipe for disaster.

I can imagine our sideline coach calling up their sideline coach, and entering into a gentlemen’s agreement to treat this as an exhibition. “Let’s just have some fun and make sure nobody gets hurt.”

I would at least hope that Satterfield is giving Coombs & Co. a heads up on what Louisville will be doing and what their weaknesses are.

Remember the years when we were envious of louisville's athletic dept? They invested in facilities way ahead of us and we viewed them as the blueprint to success.
Just 7 years ago they were in the ACC and ranked while tubbervilles tenure had driven our AAC program into the ground. They left our rivalry in the dust! Playing them in a bowl game would have been viewed as a tremendous accomplishment and stealing their coach would have seemed unimaginable. Feels so much better being on the opposite side of success. I hope they're players are demoralized and we win 71-7.

Most bowls are usually pointless and we've played in a lot of them since joining the AAC. This bowl is also pointless but it's in a historic stadium, takes place in a cool city, pairs us up with a former rival, and we just stole their coach a few years after taking their president. That's a pretty fun game to excited about, all things considered.

I never saw them as a blueprint for success. I see what UC did over the last decade as the blueprint for success. Louisville bought their way in to the P5 by making unethical decision after unethical decision, often at the expense of their academics, and were lucky to meet the ACC at a time when academics became devalued in realignment. Otherwise, we'd be sitting here today with Uconn in the ACC while Cincinnati, Louisville, BYU, and Houston/UCF go to the Big 12.

Wait. Boston is a cool city? You mean other than in temperature?

I like it well enough. Then again I'm a sucker for the old architecture you can find on the east coast.

I meant the blueprint of investing heavily in facilities, especially football/basketball. That was the massive difference between them and us during ACC realignment. We invested in ours and got into the big12.

Not really a transfer, so I'll post this here. Whyle opts out of the bowl.
