Of course, they want MWC.
Speaking of the Aggies, they flew across the country to play Liberty and are up 28-7 at the half!
Then why isn’t SH interested?
I hear it’s the other way around, actually.
Interesting. So, did SHSU express interest in possibly joining this conference once it is inevitably FBS, and the presidents of Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Southern Utah, etc. were like “nah”? Or did they keep the door open.
Man, I really really hope their opinion changes. I just would love nothing more than to play FBS football with North Alabama and Dixie.
Seems some bridges were burned. That's all I heard. I don't keep up with most of these schools, so I'm learning more each day.
Also, you can keep digging at UNA and "Dixie" but I don't care. I'm not a proponent of UNA going to FBS but I don't make the decisions.
Have fun getting beat in every sport by P5-funded Liberty. I have no desire for my alma mater to be back in a conference with them.
That diploma mill is losing to New Mexico State as we speak. Yes, the same NMST that got blown out by Tarleton 43-17.

That’s just football with their 10th string QB. Their funding and facilities are program-wide.

No we want to play real teams that people have heard of.
Sorry Sammy no one in Huntsville knows who is in the flyover Conference either which will keep your stadium empty on game day.
Speaking of NCAA rules
"Football Bowl Subdivision teams have to meet minimum attendance requirements (average 15,000 people in actual or paid attendance per home game), which must be met once in a rolling two-year period. NCAA Football Championship Subdivision teams do not need to meet minimum attendance requirements."
If this is enforced your days in FBS will end before they ever get started.
Your average attendance is half of what is required.
Sad, no one cares about Bearkat football.

That’s funny you bring up being funded to clueless Sammy. Sam Houston is part of the Texas State University system which is a have not. UT, A&M and Tech systems are all better funded.
To make matters worse the school has little support for its football program or athletics in general for that matter.

a. you’d have to be pretty clueless (or pay no attention to attendance) to actually believe the old 15,000 rule is enforced.
b. if it ever got that bad, we could just pretend like we have a lot of fans. Like Tarleton.

All this is true. And yet Sam was still selected for big time ball ahead of Tarleton. That’s what FBS presidents and administrators think of the future of your school: so dire and sad that even SCAM HOUSTON gets an invite before your lil second rate hillbilly planters school.

Go back to the flyover board you and your comments are not needed here. This is the WAC Football thread. You should have no interest just like no one has any in your school

Sam Houston State University is a member institution of the Western Athletic Conference.

I know you are slow so I’ll help you out, it’s called transition. The fact that a school in transition is not only outgrowing your school but also has more financial support as well as alumni support would make me jealous as well.
Now trail back off to your new mates. Remember you are no longer part of the WAC. You can take your other flyover mates with you who for some reason want to hang around the WAC football thread as well.

RE: WAC Football 2022
There is NOT going to be an "upstart" fbs league. The facts are too many to overcome. There is no escape from REALITY.
Now, will SOME of the "WACSUN" schools be invited into EXISTING FBS conferences over the next 3-6 years??
Yes-- probably-- and that just takes more capable schools away-- making their "plans" even more unworkable.
Also-- do you REALLY think the CFP Board (private LLC company) would vote to add an eleventh FBS league?

Thanks Debbie Downer for your most needed information. You can now go back to the flyover conference of obscurity and spread your negativity there. Your school nor interest has anything to do with WAC football. Good day.

“Go back to the flyover conference of obscurity!” yells angry farmer, who proudly shares a conference with North Alabama, Dixie State and Eastern Kentucky.

It’s not called transition, it’s called your school is too podunk and smalltime for the lights. That’s why you got passed over by HBU and UIW for Southland expansion 10 years ago. It’s why you’re getting passed again by Sam Houston now. Simply not a good program. This ain’t the Lone Star Conference! Get with it!
You’re not getting into CUSA! Not after the transition, not ever! The members don’t respect your school. Enjoy Southern Utah.

Says the guy whose school couldn’t draw flies at a landfill even when y’all were really good. That time has passed. The fact that you come here and project says a lot about how inept and inadequate you feel.
We don’t need your negative comments here especially from the obscure flyover conference. I’ll bet you couldn’t find ten people at the university or Huntsville who even know who is in the conference.
Now go play over on your conference board. Bye bye also ran.
