WR could be REAL rough next year even with Rudolph coming back. McCray and Travis never panned out. I like Rutkiewicz, but after that there's nobody that excites me. At least not that we've seen.

Also, I'm not surprised about Fletcher leaving. If he can't get playing time this year then he's never going to see the field.

I believe several of the leaving “seniors” still have eligibility for next year.

Cox, Rattin, and Gandy are listed on the roster as juniors. Engstrand is listed as a sophomore.

Looks like Tucker is at 1,997 career yards----hoping he gets in a for a catch and a few yards.

WR concerns more than linebacker? I mean Rudolph, toure, kasper are probably fine.

We have had bad linebacker recruiting for 5 years. With Rattin going I am scared.

Ratin didn't have his best year.We do need inside LBers, WR and CB. Transfer portal has to be hit hard. Surprised Cox and Engstrand leaving, would not be surprised if they showed up on another roster. Cox did have a serious knee injury.

I wish will all of them well, we were fornutate to have these players as they contributed to a HUSKIE MAC CHAMPIONSHIP! Good luck in your future endeavors.

Toure doesn't even have a single catch this year. I can't just assume he will probably be fine.

Everything about the defense concerns me and they can't be counted on to make stops when it counts. Cole Tucker could be counted on to extend drives, so in my opinion it's the bigger loss to the team than Pugh and Rattin leaving.

Pugh, Tucker, Kennedy and Soraghan actually won 2 MAC titles (2018 & 2021). Nicely done! Some of the others who are graduating were red-shirted in 2018.

Congrats to all the seniors. Appreciate your efforts as Huskies! 04-cheers

He was on double secret probation for wanting to transfer.

But he’s a starter next season.

Hammock is a terrible recruiter when it comes to defensive back 7.

Looking at the roster and considering the transfer portal, I see only 2 players I would possibly recruit if I were a P5 school and they are James Ester and Jordan White. On the offensive side it would be the 2 Rbs, Rudolph, and possibly an OL or 2. The OL would be Z and Potter and maybe Lippe. I dont know enough about our center.

Blakemore? wonder what that is about. Transfer?

White can’t run. He would be exposed vs way more speed.

Ester is meh. Literally every player is meh. No one is worth taking, I don’t mean that in any other way than it is what it is.

Surprised rattins leaving with Pugh graduating. I really thought Rattin should have been playing over him all year anyways. TH needs to get a transfer bad at the LB position now. Shouldn’t be that hard if you offer them a guarantee to start.

Isn't the roster a depth chart for the game?

If it is, they typically don't list players who are hurt and ruled out of the game, right?

This is an excellent point. When we look at the list, exactly what are we looking at?

Some thoughts:
--- The need for playing time and showing the coaches an attitude and skill set continues, even in the last game of a 4-8/3-9 season. Hammock said he and his staff are always evaluating for "next man up," which will certainly carry over to next spring practice for returning players. You can bet that a number of our posters will be doing the same thing.
--- For Hammock & Co., however, this game is part of what has to be an analysis of what needs to happen per position and unit via the transfer portal. You can bet that a number of our posters will be doing the same thing.
--- But for others, why would someone playing their last game want to risk injury (similar point as those who don't play in bowl games when they're hoping on the NFL draft and UFDAs). Or when they are working toward a career not in pro football. A number of our posters will follow their exploits post-NIU.

So ... there should be plenty of interest in at least watching this game. It's the last one before "portal time," both coming and going.

Again, just some thoughts.

RE: Guys hanging it up per Akron game notes
How disappointed will we all be if Hammock can’t secure any transfers?

This team needs some ready made talent on defense - no one wants to squander Rocky coming back…as long as he doesn’t transfer.

Personally, I don’t know if Hammock is going to be able to lower himself to the level of saying “I screwed up, we didn’t recruit and develop what we needed and now we need help….”

We shall see. I started the season as a huge Hammock fan but he did too much that was inexcusable. He isn’t a first year coach Anymore.

81's point is not the depth chart, but the ROSTER. All players in the program are listed on the roster even if injured. Rudolph has been listed all year and still is listed. Blakemore appears to no longer be part of the program.

Cox has been here for a while, Engstrand too. They are probably at that point where they are excited for life after graduation, which is exciting, till you are at an office cold calling all day.

Best of luck to these guys. With redshirts and the COVID year, they probably are all well past graduation.
