Exclamation New CUSA Media Contracts
https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/statu...6204273664

Brett McMurphy@Brett_McMurphy

Conference USA signs new 5-year media rights deal w/CBS Sports Network & ESPN,
@SBJ reports. The deal features all C-USA October games to be played on weekday nights. So starting next year, we'll have C-USAction in October & MACtion in November

After years of fighting it...

Pat Smith@patsmithradio

CUSA gets new 5 yr media right's deal with CBS Sports Net/ESPN. They'll mimic November MACtion by shifting its entire Oct slate of football games in 2023 to Tuesday and Wednesday. According to @SBJ, CUSA schools will make around $750k per year each. Behind the Sun Belt and MAC.

That probably would’ve meant the end of my season tickets. Glad we’re outta here.

CUSA now lowest paying FBS conference for TV money. Even at our initially reduced TV share, we'll make almost 5x that in the AAC at $3.5M/yr.

What are we ranked now?

I thought the MAC made less, but maybe CUSA is already the lowest paying.

What would be interesting…
If we weren’t leaving, reading the sunshine pumpers trying to convince us that Tuesday night games would bring us more media exposure

Yeah, that turd polishing would really take some elbow grease. Almost as much as trying to show that Bryant Vincent is actually qualified to be a candidate for our HC job.

RE: New CUSA Media Contracts
Tuesday night exclusive on espn or espn2 IS much more media exposure and media mention nationally than having your best games on Stadium, that isn’t even debatable by every measure. It is a big reason why the MAC and Sun Belt were able to grow their reputation and brand to pass CUSA. This is a big improvement for CUSA even though the money isn’t any better. They kept it flat while getting better visibility, which was their goal.

I think this is a good deal for CUSA and I'd be happy with it if we were still in the league. It's an upgrade over the current deal in terms of exposure and money. I could live with one mid week game a season.

Yeah I don't see why this would be so bad. I'd take a weeknight game per year to be the only game on ESPN for a night. It would undoubtedly provide more exposure for the school than being on ratchet ass Stadium, which looks like it's being broadcast from 1985.

Now? They always were. This almost doubled their revenue and is barely behind the MAC. MAC also has to play on cold November nights in Michigan while Octobers in the south in CUSA are much more seasonable weather for fans.
