Definitely not. Maybe 1500-2000 range. Maybe this board was more pumped for his arrival then the general population…

To be fair this "game" is basically a glorified practice. I'm sure in the moment the players on both sides are wanting to win and all, but I'm sure most fans don't care about an exhibition.

It'll be more interesting to see what the crowds are like when the games starting counting.

What game were you at? There were at least 1500 people there. It looked about the size of a crowd for a January Mac game. Not bad for an exhibition game on a Thursday in October.

Noah was Noah. Love those mid-range jumpers.

Emoni seemed to play much better in the second half once he got on page with his teammates.

Acuff seems like the calming force on the team. Seems like a very steady player.

Legend was the player of the game though. I believe he had 11 points, 13 rebounds, and only two fouls. Very solid.

I didn't see the game, but was occasionally checking in on the score. A little too close in the 1st half but at the end of the day EMU beat GVSU by 16. Oakland also beat GVSU by 16. That's my main takeaway.

You guys and I are always at home games, and I do respect your opinion. My perception is far different. The ONLY weekday game in the past eight years that approached this crowd level was Toledo on a Friday night and that was mainly due to the Rockets having a larger following than our home crowd.

This was a pre-season scrimmage and yes it was free to attend, but the seats and parking lot were far more occupied than a normal MAC weekday night game in my estimation.

Off topic, to be sure, but guys could our audio systems have been any worse during the season ticket holder event and for KPJ during game breaks? Just plain embarrassing, in my opinion.

Good takeaway. Someone here may look at GLIAC schools like they're NAIA but it's a solid D2 conference. There are a few kids on the GV team that could play in the MAC.

Good point on the PA system. It was horrendous. That's gotta get fixed ASAP.

Stan coached it like the scrimmage it was. He played every newcomer in the first half while his "known quantities" Ballard, Rice and Luka sat. I'm good with that as long as he uses this as a practice with the intent to improve.

Somehow I feel like you are talking about me- or Super. I will admit, I have thought that way in the past, but you changed my perspective after the Northwood game last year (that was a solid team). GVSU definitely had some players on their team.

Regardless, to clarify for Frank, EMU’s 16 point win was much less impressive than Oakland’s 16 point win over GVSU. EMU only had a 5 point lead with 5 minutes left and GVSU was in the game the whole way up to that point- they even lead as late as early in the second half. EMU pulled away a bit after the 5 minute mark and maintened more of a 10-12 point lead for the last few minutes. Then in the last minute, GVSU seemed to give up and EMU got 3 buckets to extend the lead to 16.

GVSU is probably a decent team, and they have one of these “realish” games under their belt already so probably were a lot more calibrated then EMU was going to be. So i am not worried about this poor start.

I forgot you posted this. I was wasting time and board space updating the score for you guys for nothing. I like this feed loads quickly and easy to navigate. I am assuming/hope every fake will have a similar feed? Thanks for sharing.

If this number is correct then it is still more than 2x the number of people who saw EMU beat NSU in post season tournament.

Now that I've had a chance to sleep on the game (as it it was a really important game 03-lmfao) I'm not surprised that there wasn't many real surprises.

Our big 3 are still the big 3. Anyone surprised that Emoni, Noah, and Tyson are all very capable scorers?

The big question was which of the bigs would show well.
