I believe Cephas broke our record for receiving yards in a game by 3.

I hope we learned some things today. My goodness. I’d say we were lucky to win, but Cephus just willed us to win. Amazing performance in the second half.

RE: 2022 Football Week 5 vs Ohio
Some absolutely eye popping stats today and we needed all of it. Cephas and Walker have to be the best WR combo we've had here. Cooper had the 6th highest rushing total for a game in ksu history in the same game that Cephas set our record for most receiving yards in a game. Unreal.

Despite that, all the credit in the world to the defense. They played a heck of a game and bought the offense time to get it together.

Good point, 5 games in and they are finally boxing in the weight class, as it were.

I don’t know. TCU 55, Oklahoma 17 going into the 4th.

Good point. Clearly Oklahoma was overrated going into the season.

As I said earlier in the week, as much as Kent State football has improved under Lewis, they haven't reached the point where any MAC opponent can be taken for granted.

One down, seven to go. I don’t care how we get it done. To hell with style points. Just win.

The three offensive stats for Kent that are crazy from this game are 736 total yards, 398 passing 338 rushing, and 29:54 time of possession.

The amount of yards doesn't translate to how few points were scored.

Pretty balanced yardage between the pass and run game. Big difference in attempts though.

Despite the 300 yard difference there was only a 6 second difference in time of possession. That just doesn't seem possible.

Six blinkin’ fumbles. Though not turnovers, both two of Schlee’s cost a touchdown. First one may have saved Ohio a rout.

But they won.

ATTENDANCE: 20392

The Student Section was incredible!

On way in, with stalled traffic, I watched 7 people get out of 5 person car and start walking towards stadium.

The funny part was one of those got of the trunk [/u]04-cheers

After the Akron game I expect attendance to dip significantly. November night games on Tuesday and Wednesday against out-of-state foes Ball State and Eastern, both of which will be televised, has small crowd written all over them.

Question for anyone that was at the game. Was the wind strong? Based on where kickoffs were ending up I got the impression there was a pretty strong north to south wind. Wondering because the announcers made a big deal about Glass's 50 yard fg would've been good from 60. Curious if he legit could hit from 60 or if the wind was a factor. Either way, gotta love that it seems like we can confidently attempt 50 yarders this year.

The wind was strong and steady the whole game from north to south. Around halftime I'd did shift east to west for a short time before going back to North to South.

It was steady the whole game. My face was windburned afterward. Glass has a great leg and his 50-yarder had plenty of room. I don’t know about 60 but it had another 5+ yards and was right down the middle.

RE: 2022 Football Week 5 vs Ohio
An 11-game win streak means some of those wins won't be pretty. I'll take this. The guys really had a lot to overcome.
Some of what we overcame was self-inflicted. But it started with that 4th down where we got a stop only to give OU another try because the refs blew an extra whistle (did anyone hear it?) shifted momentum going into half and the third quarter. Plus a few PI/non-PI calls. It wasn't a great night for Collin. I wouldn't expect to see a night from him like that again.
I was glad to hear Lewis address ball protection in the presser.
Also, I said this was a trap game. Not because we won against a P5, but because the thought, "we can play with Georgia..." The MAC is scrappy. We need to be aggressive and hungry.

Great job for Lewis. Is he ready for Big Ten?

Officially, yes. Unofficially, no. Jim Leonhard is getting that job.

I have come to the conclusion that the traffic management plan at KSU is the same no matter if it's a Saturday Homecoming Game or a November, Wednesday night game. Must be nice to have a job not requiring any initiative
to improve the product

Aside from widening Summit, what are the options? Summit is along wetland an private property. Good luck with that red tape. Personally, I'm beyond thrilled we have this problem.

I just saw the presser. One of my former students is going there to play, so I'd love to see that, but still just... no.
