Officially retiring
I don't want to be a Marshall fan anymore and I'll not root for someone else. I'm just done. Last straw kind of day. I don't even watch any other football past the point every year when our season is toast. It is toast. 20 years of this garbage has taken it's toll.

Just wanted to let you guys know why I will no longer be around.

It's hard, but just a game. Look forward to seeing Marshall in Harrisonburg.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I'm still pissed. Took me 5 days to even come back to this board.

We had the excitement of the entire off season. New transfers coming in to fit into Huff's scheme. ESPN deal, beating ND!!!!!! Then this, typical. We did the same damn thing after we knocked off KState in 2003. Turned right around and got beat on the road at Troy. I don't know, maybe this will wake them up, maybe it is best to get a loss out of the way early right before conference play. Damn turnovers and stupid crap like that just gets under my skin man. No reason for that ****.

RE: Officially retiring
Once we were up 14-0 on BGSU, I looked at my wife and said something to the effect that this might end up being a very, very special year, maybe up there with '99. Then the wheels just completely fell off and Huff did little to nothing to fix things. I've been waiting since the early 2000s for us to really put ourselves on the national map again and thought after the ND game this could be the year. Yeah, I know about 3 10 win seasons from 2013-2015 and the interesting 2020 season, but this could have been REALLY special. Just so disappointing. I'm actually struggling to get excited about Saturday, and it's our first conference game in the Sun Belt. I guess I let my hopes get too high after ND. If you'd told me at this point in the season we'd be 2-1 I'd have been happy with that, as I didn't think we'd beat ND in the first place. Just it's amazing just how much air was taken out of the balloon against BG.

After last weekend. I'm not very confident in our chances vs Troy. I kind of dread watching (actually I won't watch because I don't have NFL Network).

I'm still angry, but it's becoming less anger and just more disappointment and disgust. I just can't understand how a team could look so great and literally DOMINATE Notre Dame then look terrible against BGSU and the hopeless and helpless tonight against Troy. Doc needed fired, and I thought we made a good hire in Huff. But now I'm starting to question if we hired the right guy.

What the crap was that? Is Doc back on payroll again? I feel like rambling of the Chevy Chase tirade from Christmas Vacation!!!!

The last two games have been "cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, bloodsucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey **** he is! HALLELUJAH! HOLY ****! Where's the Tylenol?"

It's just so frustrating. Such a golden opportunity flushed down the drain. I can't believe after thrashing Notre Dame I'm now questioning if we even end up having a winning season.

There's not a "gimme" in the entire East Division. JMU just woke everyone up.

Dam, probably cost a bundle to buy that guy out.

Sad part is any ground gained from the ND win is now lost and put in the shouldn't have neat ND category.

Real opportunity to be the next coming of Boise and UCF type.

My last line of hope is that we just came back from playing 3 away games. When was the last time we did that? 3 away games in a row? That has to be tough on a team. Still it doesn't excuse the losses, but it's the only excuse I can hang on to and keep my sanity at this point.

Only twice before since our 1-A/FBS comeback in 1997:

It happened in 1997 - (@WVU, @ Army, @Kent St.) and in 2007 (@Cincy, @Memphis, @Tulsa).
