Just in case you turned off the game after the “game ending INT “…
We managed to get the ball back with :24 on our own 6 and move it to the UH 6 with one play into the end zone that grazed off Luke’s fingertips (well defended)

Heck of an effort all night

I turned it off after the play-by-play guy said the running into the kicker penalty was the ballgame. Except it was 4th and 6 after the delay of game penalty, not 4th and 1 and the 5 yard penalty doesn't come with an automatic 1st down. Dana declined the penalty, Owls' ball with 24 seconds to play on their own 6.

That's what I get for listening to ESPN not-so-plus play-by-play. They should have just let Taylor do the game by himself.

I did go back on watch what I missed On Demand. I do like that feature of ESPN+.

It was a heck of a never give up effort by the Owls.

So, for the preseason...

2 wins
1 close, competitive loss
1 blowout loss

Seems better than usual.

The "usual" for the Owls is a pretty low bar.

Going into year 5, I would have hoped the bar would have already been raised significantly. Better late than never, I guess.

The usual bar for preseason, IMO, is either 1-3 or 0-4, with a couple of blowout losses.

Agree with your last paragraph.

For me, the jury is still out on Bloom. It was in, with a guilty verdict, but the last three games have sent it back out.

I don't think Brown ended up playing against us (Manchak started the game but didn't do much). But Brown did play 11 games (so maybe all but the Rice game) and was UH's 2nd leading receiver on the year. So maybe he served a 1-game suspension for the fight.

And he's in trouble again for slapping a Tulsa player on the field after their loss. The other UH player and the Tulsa player were high school teammates and were just talking when Brown slapped the Tulsa player.

Nutter didn't play the rest of the season.
