Typical, anti-zip, when a very highly ranked team is not slaughtering a team that the conventional wisdom says they should be slaughtering. He can't talk up Kent State like he would a mid-level P5 team, because people wouldn't buy it. He can't sandbag because that would put in question their # 1 ranking. So, the only viable option is to imply that his players aren't playing as well as they should.

Didn't seem like it, but we'll have to see how some of the ones from today turn out. Johns has been a star on defense so far, if he misses time that would be a big loss. Bolden would be a big loss too. I didn't notice if he came back in after his injury though. It's always hard to gauge defensive improvements before the MAC because we never schedule an opponent on our level. But so far our defense is showing signs of being much better. Losing one or both of those guys would be a big setback to that unit. If memory serves Bolden got banged up against Oklahoma too.

Something that should be mentioned. When his time here is done, Cooper figures to be ranked very near the top of our all time rushing ranks. Due to his size the NFL may pass on him. But he certainly put some things on tape against the best of the best today that will help his cause.

We lost to the #1 and #7 teams be a combined 47 points. Akron lost to the #15 team by 57 and the #14 team by 52. This pleases me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled by how they've done so far. But it's still, combined with the annual FCS team, a 1-3 start, which means they start the MAC season already in the hole in terms of having a winning season.

How many 3s did Steph Curry have yesterday? Listened to the 1st quarter on XM yesterday as I was driving and their announcers kept calling us Golden State.

LOL Doesn't surprise me. I remember when Frank Gifford once referred to a player coming from Liberty Baptist State. I believe the quality of sports announcers has really declined over time.
