Carroll is hurt. Hopefully we'll get him back in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, one of the two UH wide receivers who got into a fight, is listed as a starter.

Not surprising. Dana is the 2020’s version of John Jenkins without the nude photos of women.

From the 1993 story on his resignation as head coach.
“ Jenkins reportedly forced his players to practice longer than the NCAA allowed. It was also widely reported that Jenkins spliced shots of topless women into his practice tapes in order to keep his player's attention.”

RE: Rice (+17.5, O/U 57.5) @ Houston
I think this game is another pivotal one. For both teams.
UH has to be thinking that they’ve definitely under-performed the last 3 games. Their competition has been pretty good but their stats are lagging and I know they were expecting to be 3-0 at this point. And their coach is feeling some heat. If he loses to Rice and then doesn’t win out he may be gone. Losing to Rice is a very unfavorable metric. Still, they’ve probably got better talent than we do and they’ve won the last 6 against us. By an average margin of 44-19. If they win they can use this game to get back on track going into conference play.
For Rice, in my opinion, a loss to UH doesn’t sink us (I think everybody at the start of the season would’ve been very happy to be 2-1 at this point) but it’ll mean we haven’t really moved up to the level where we can play with the big guys and win. Not just play close. Bloomgren might save his job going 6-6 and going to a bowl. But he has to beat UH and teams like them to take the team to another level. Like what we will face in the AAC.

RICE overcomes the home crowd at UH. Survives a back and forth game. And wins…
31-28

The Big 12 will go ballistic if UH looses again. Did they make the right choice of allowing UH in the Big 12?

You do realize they lost to two Big 12 teams, right?

Plus a potential PAC12 team if they lose tomorrow…

Every conference needs someone to be the worst so losing to two teams in the Big 12 isn't the worst thing. If they lose to us then they can question their decision

They lost to Kansas, an ignoble feat Rice hasn't even accomplished since 1961. 05-nono

Perhaps we are underestimating Kansas. They are 3-0 with wins over West Virginia who lost by one score to Pitt.
I’m wouldn’t expect a walk in the park for Rice tomorrow just because UH lost to Kansas. Kansas looks to be much improved.

Kinda stupid to suspend him who has a lot of passion for football. Maybe just don't let him start.
