Personally, I think Herm Edwards is one impressive man. He conducted classes for NFL rookies on how to handle their money. He was a fabulous analyst for ESPN. He was hired by TWO NFL teams and got to the playoffs Four times in nine seasons. Yet he took over a non-storied ASU program and continued to coach during the current NIL and transfer portal turbulence and still had a winning record! I still don't know why he did not get out on his terms, earlier.
He will be just fine, he is far too talented for ESPN, Fox or CBS Sports not to hire him. He will earn a bunch of money in speaking engagements as well because he is so talented. I salute him and Mac Brown for giving it one more try coaching college football, in the same shoes, I would not have.

Agreed. Going back to run a program like ASU was sooo much work and stress. He could have been golfing and collecting speaking/analyst checks.

Dear steve,
After reading Jerry's piece, and then your tweet steve, I really feel badly about what happened to Mr. Edwards. It's almost like saying; "Coaches out there, if you lose to Eastern Michigan you will be fired".
Almost like we're the sh-t pile of college football, and one does not dare lose to Eastern Michigan.

Ken, you’re right! Looks like we will have to win the MAC to make the PAC-12 respect us. Maybe we play these guys down the road in a rematch bowl game next season

I was trying to post using a phone or whatever and couldn't get the link I wanted to an article.
There is a NCAA scandal/investigation pending which virtually drove the nail in Edwards' coffin.

Ken, spot on! Go to youtube and watch all the ASU post game shows. It is like ASU lost to a pop warner team. It is disgusting. Same thing happened when Emoni Bates came to EMU. Like it was this massive fall from grace or look how far Emoni Bates has fallen, as if EMU is the Siberia of college athletics. I for one am beyond sick of this false narrative. We need to win the MAC football title to shut people up and we have to do the same in basketball--even that won't give us the proper respect!

All that being said, EMU athletics media relations needs to step up their game!!!!! If you are reading this, Chris Creighton's pre and post game appearances and pressers need to be plastered all over facebook and you tube. I am TIRED of watching only the ASU perspective. Let's be proactive. Let's feature some of our guys. There are a lot of great stories in our program that not enough people are being made aware of. Let's go, this could be a very fun era of EMU athletics, let's let everyone know about it.

Can NEVER do too much but I am not talking about the EMU website, the only people who go there are EMU people--they already got them, preaching to the converted. I am talking about the national platforms.

Here is an article from Sports Illustrated about poss. recruiting infractions.
