So out of the 9 drafted last year, Brooks was the only one not to make team?

I'm happy for Huber and, for once, the Bengals made what I consider a strong public relations move with a low risk decision enabling Kevin Huber to set a record for tenure with the franchise. I think he needs one more game to make or break the record and I'm glad it will be a Bearcat in the Bengals' record book.

I say low risk because if his skills or performance would drop off over the course of the season there would likely be at least a serviceable punter out there for the taking. Maybe the Bengals don't plan to punt much either. 03-thumbsup

Huber is going to pass Ken Anderson for total games (207), but unless Clark-Harris calls it quits with Huber, he'll pass Huber next year anyhow.

Yep looks like he got signed to the practice squad.
https://coltswire.usatoday.com/2022/08/3...move-2022/

Not sure its official though.

I'm not sure how one can survive on the practice squad.. but theres always the goal to make the team..

Practice squad players make $11,500 per week or $207,000 for 18 weeks. Veteran players with over two years of experience will make a minimum of $15,400 per week or $277,200 for 18 weeks, and a maximum of $19,900 per week or $358,2

Also, Brooks is officially on the Colts practice squad. It’s listed on nfl.com as real time updates to practice squad signings.

Beavers blew out his knee and he’s out for the season. I think they can IR him if they want to keep him.

Yep, if they planned to cut him they could've made an injury settlement and done so, much like what the Cardinals did with Justin Murray. Putting him on IR allows them to still have 53 and to keep him on the roster for the future...no reason not to for a guy who was arguably the most consistently LB for them in the 1.5 games he played prior to injury.

So in other words, we had the BEST cornerback duo in college football last season hands down. SEC? B1G? ACC? Nah. AAC. Cincinnati, Ohio.

James Hudson did a great job overall filling in at right tackle for Jack Conklin. His solid play will allow him to start again next week if Conklin isn't ready to go. Brownies finally win in the opening week after 17 years.

Alec Pierce had two drops in the endzone of a game the Colts tied as 7 point favorites...not a great start for him

Forrest had a great game as the big Nickel. 4 tackles, 2 PBUs, a pick (on the last second hail mary) and a forced fumble.

Because players aren't used to kicking on third down. Have you ever seen anyone bail on a 3rd down kick?

Taylor kicking their with a backup snapper was awful. Play for 7. 3 as last resort.

Almost everybody is blaming Wilcox (or I guess Huber for one in the case of this poster) for the two misses but I'm not so sure either was the real problem. I'm no special teams guru, but on the blocked XP, Fitzpatrick was basically unblocked. And on the FG, yeah the snap was high, but Huber handled it fine and it mostly falls on Mac for shanking it in my opinion.

The Minkah block was the softest lob of a snap I've ever seen. Could a better block have been made? Sure but they scheme to block for a specific period and the pace of the snap being noticably off wrecked the timing
