Doesn't really matter if he A) doesn't win the Mac West and B) Win the Mac Championship or C) win his bowl game he is gone, if he does all 3 he will probably move up a notch and will still be gone. Which I won't have a problem with.

RE: Is It Too Early To Start The Fire Candle Thread…
Didn’t we all see this coming? Let’s be honest.

Can we get Pinkel????Corner him at the HOF banquet and play on his sympathies.

I really don’t believe that Berg and Long would help much. Ocasio was never really going to play much IMHO. He’s very undersized and I completely do not believe his size listing. I went down to first row to check some players out and he’s not big that’s for sure.

JC is plain and simple not a good coach. His approach is simple. Compare him to Saban who came in and kicked ass and turned things around in one season. As they say - It’s all about culture and ours is loose and very very unfocused. The offense can only run basic vanilla plays.

Here’s a big problem…. OUR OL CANNOT RUN/MOVE! How can we run sweeps or effectively block downfield when our OL is planted in cement! This same inertia problem means we cannot move people. ZERO EXPLOSION!!!

These guys are paid to win. They are accountable. I’d like the entire O side fired and keep Kehres and Kuligowski. The two K’s.

Of course he is.... he met with the group.

He's a savvy guy. His central focus is to raise money and interest and if interest wanes in the main product then that becomes his #1 priority.

He's going to be tested early in his tenure regarding contracts and the most extreme HR issues.

He's reading.

+1 He's too stubborn to change anything. I heard O'Brien made him get new defensive coaches.

Last 2 years, when playing other FBS teams, UT has led the nation in penalties, last year averaging 9 a game. I believe according the site I was on, EMU had the least last year, about 4 penalties a game. As we know penalties can be big momentous killers.

We had a touchdown and interception called back Thursday

The INT called back because of the penalty was so infuriating. Why do we have to swap DL all the time? THAT is why we got the penalty - had 12 men on the field due to a DL running off because of confusion on who should have been in and who should have been out. I lose count of how many times I see a DL sprinting on/off the field for 1 play, then get subbed on/off after 1 play. Why have these guys waste so much energy running on/off the field for 1 or 2 plays at a time? Or other times you see a guy barely make it to his spot on time and looking around/talking with others guys on D trying to see what the play call is right as the O is getting ready to snap the ball. Now we have a guy who is out of breath from running onto the field and not knowing what the play call is. Stop trying to be fancy with all the substituting and just let the guys play.

At this point, I wouldn’t be complaining or concerned with what the Defense is doing…..

At that point, why not call a time out before the penalty was called ?

I truly think the D will be awesome. The loss of Bolden certainly hurts but we'll be fine and like I said - probably best D in 22 years. The D will be tremendous.

The O will progress. We will score enough points to win our share.

I'm still on the bandwagon.

UMass will be hard-pressed hard to threaten the red zone.

UT will be really up for this night game in the Glass Bowl. They should always be night games and and always on Saturday. Toledo is a night game environment - always has been except for HC. What a fantastic evening to watch a game on the 1st even though it was a Thursday.

Night games in the GB are great. With OSU playing at noon vs Ark St and UM @ 8pm against a Hawaii team that lost 63-10 to Vandy. hope some locals decide to do some tailgating and fill up the GB. Again biggest improvement is supposed to be game one to two.

We don't need another Mount Union coach.

The D3 natty title route worked for Mr. Kansas.

He is actually proven. Candle just went there and did a GA stint right? Anyways... this league rarely focuses on defense. I dont mind winning 21-3. He seems like a good choice should the job open up. But a retirement run for Pinkel would be epic!

You are right on..... Just watching the Oline run off and on the field is depressing... they do not develop these guys...

I can tell you one thing, it's never too early to start a Fire Hallett thread. There is no pride in our o-line. It's a disgrace to what it once was not that long ago (before Hallett arrived from a much, much lesser D3 Heidelberg). He should honestly try and go find a job at Ohio State and post more pictures of his son in Buckeye gear. Great for recruiting, right!!
