As long as it's not a decrease from existing AAC payout, and there's some path to full payout as our value increases, I'd think we would take that in a heartbeat. Just the improved exposure, recruiting and fan interest/ticket sales would be worth it.

That's the ticket!
Everyone now talking about restructuring payment within the P5's based upon value anyway. (Could be a bad deal for the Vandy's of the world.)
I wouldn't be surprised if some type of scale is applied to the 4 B12 newbies, and anyone else moving "up" in conferences in the coming months.

I have thought for many years that eventually college football will become like Spotify. Schools might get paid a base amount for being in a conference, but if 6 million people watch Ohio State - Michigan on ABC, and 350,000 watch Ole Piss and Vandy on ESPNU, each will get paid accordingly.

With that type of model, we could compete.

I really like where your head is on this, too bad it won't happen

Interesting....

Looks like ESPiN is going all in with the $EC in the "Big Divide." How long before it looks like the NFL "FOX/CBS with a few scraps thrown to other networks" model?

This is GREAT news for us. ESPN will need content to replace it.

I would think so too. It makes sense. But then I remember - when has any of this up to now made sense? Logic and reason are out the window!

Yes. The will probably secure the Big 12 or Pac 12 media rights or both. Both conferences are former shells of themselves so we should still get our national recognition regardless.

Yes, but ESPN controls the national sports narrative. They don't just cover sports and sports news because the teams are the biggest, best, or most important. They define who is biggest, best, and most important.

Will be interesting to see how many highlights the B1G gets on sports center and other recap/ highlight shows. I am guessing outside of teams in the top 10, there will be rather few……. I am sure they will still include the top B1G games in the pickem portion of GameDay though.

ESPN is a woke, liberal, Marxist network that is largely responsible for the woke, liberal anti-American mess we have in sports these days. I will only occasionally watch a game on that network and never, ever watch any of their other shows. Ever. They have a hugely disproportionate number of black / female anchors and reporters who were hired because they are black or female or both. They clearly have racist hiring policies. Eff ESPN hard - no lube - no reach around.

It has been the same way since the beginning of time, and it will never change. The only difference now is that your side isn't benefitting from it.

They used to just cover sports without the political slant. They are full fledged BLM / members of the Democratic Party. They were never ever conservative politically - they just didn't politicize everything.

Now its mainly just a bunch of black talking heads like Steven ******* Smith running their mouths about how there arent enough black <insert flavor of the month> because of systemic racism or whitewashing or colonislism or <insert racist comment about white people>.
