Only other offer is from Navy.

UT really working the local kids this class.

Also Army and some Ivy's. Former Purdue baseball commit.

I missed Army when scrolling his twitter feed, but don't see any tweets from him about any Ivy offers.

Love it. Reel in all the locals. We're up to 4 (out of 11 for '23 class) now from NW Ohio, including one of Walendzak's O-lineman. Meanwhile, that school down south has only 1 verbal for this recruiting class.

Interesting recruit. Will he play RB at UT??? That is an interesting speculation. He’s more likely to be a special teams ace. I may be surprised. I don’t know his 40 time but his hand eye coordination is obviously there given his baseball skills. I am glad he chose to stay home. He’ll be close to a 2000 yard back this season. I’ll have to go see a few P- burg games to get a feel for this kids talent. Great recruit for UT. He’ll get more offers. Toledo kept after him even though he made his baseball choice a while back. UT football is headed in a positive direction

Go Rockets!

Will catch a few Yellowjacket games this fall to get a look at two of our future Rockets !! I think both will see the field early on in their career at Toledo !!

Rockets added a QB, in 6'2 200 RJ Johnson, from Westlake HS in Atlanta
Offers include JMU, UCF, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, MTSU, Liberty, FAU, UAB
Same HS as Cam Newton, and has reportedly broken his school records with a year to go still.

Well we certainly could use another arm under center. Let’s hope he stays with us

The only way "Good" QBs stay at any school is if they start. If they don't start after a year or 2, they leave.

On3 has Johnson at #64 QB. We shall see. He is a high quality player. Georgia Tech may swoop in since they don’t have a line on anyone else rated higher. GT is our competition on this one. Lots and lots of talent. The coaches are on top of star kids

There must be some sort of clearing house with data on one-armed teams... Other than being contacted by teams that had previously recruited you, no way individuals or even agents could keep on top of those needs for so many.

I know it’s early and * ratings for recruiting classes in the MAC are always up in the air. But right now 24/7 has all three MAC schools in michigan rated above Toledo

Rockets have one of the smaller classes at 12 compared to CMU's 20 commits. Only half of the Rocket class(6) have been rated. Rocket verbals rank about 2 point higher so far. Way too early to grade the 2023 class.

Chris D LB is a beast. He reminds me so much of Trent Voss.

Very athletic. 37" vertical. Great forty. Bench rep beast. Great film.

Came to camp and coaches loved him

UT gets a TRUE steal in this kid. He JUMPS off the screen.

I could care less about stars. This kid is a stud. Great size at 6'3" and about 215 and very twitchy. anticipates very well

Very nice recruit. Love it.

Go Rockets!

Holliman has flipped to Colorado.

Everybody but D'Appolonia and RJ Jkhnson now have been rated. Rockets move up to #68 with 10/12 with 3 stars.

RE: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
We got ourselves a good one in Perrysburg's Connor Walendzak. He really took it to the 4-star Ohio State commit last night with a stat line of 29 carries for 240 yds and 3 TD to go along with 3 receptions for 85 yds and 2 TD.

Another local with a huge start to the season is Central Catholic's Braden Awls (DB commit), who scored 3 offensive TDs against the #1 team in Ohio and #24 team nationally.

RE: 2023 Football Recruiting Thread
I have been watching videos of past games from years past and I am somewhat suspicious that our talent level has dropped from a high point in 2015.

I feel like our peak talent is 7 years in rear view mirror. The 2015 team was loaded on both sides of ball. I’m skeptical that Toledo’s player pool has shrunk. We haven’t gotten receivers like Jones, Johnson, etc in a while. Just musing about the quality of our roster and what type of players we can still attract.
