RE: At home winning percentage since 2016
Promoting internally has been successful strategy for many schools trying to achieve continuity with a winning program. Some examples include Ryan Day at Ohio State, Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, Dabo Swinney at Clemson, Kyle Whittingham at Utah.

I agree. The decision was sound at the time.

Given the crummy COVID seasons I don't think it is really legit to evaluate until after this year. That is assuming we don't have another round of COVID cancellations this season.

We beat Ole Miss twice and UCLA once. Wasn’t that weak. At least we are competing in the top half of the conference. Rip Scherer couldn’t win in CUSA

Yeah--covid only hit Ruin's team--no other program

Absolutely not ---I hope we go 15-0---16-0--undefeated . As of now he's my favorite football coach --because he's the coach of the MEMPHIS TIGERS. I hope he makes it ---I just don't see it ----I hope I'm wrong

Yes I am -and thanks for pointing it out ------I am the Penny defender --while Knuckleheads on here were saying that Penny didn't even know how to install an offense etc etc etc----I am the poster that stated multiple times that NOBODY knows more about the game than him--and believed he would turn it around ---and he did.

the addition of Larry Brown was his biggest step so far towards being a big time coach

Penny is my favorite coach--because he is our coach.

You continually post things that are not true---posters make statements--then you make posts basically calling them liars . It seems no matter how many times posters tell you/post statements you call them liars

As for you calling me a liberal--again you know that is untrue . I have repeatedly after each time you post that nonsense that I am far right----but just like you do with others --you are just being combative and wanting to antagonize .

A large part of the way the season goes revolves around the new Defensive Coordinator and the new Offensive Coordinator. Frequent turnover in key positions is a potential disaster waiting to happen. On the good side Seth is back and our recent recruiting rankings have been really good. So there's that. But - opening on the road at Miss St and Navy isn't going to help. Win both of those and sky is the limit: lose both and we may struggle to turn it around: go 1-1 beating Navy kicks off our AAC title run just fine.

Just because I think he has ruined our program---doesn't mean I don't pull for him---he is our coach --I hope we never lose

Every program we have-FB/BB/BB etc etc --our coaches are my favorite because they coach the MEMPHIS TIGERS --but that doesn't mean I think they are the best---or that I think they never make mistakes

All programs men/women coaches are my favorite (ONLY) because they coach the MEMPHIS TIGERS---I hope we never lose a game in any sport --however coaches come and go----the MEMPHIS TIGERS are constant

I definitely like our chances against Navy. Hopefully our linemen don't get too banged up against MS State. I'm not sure we could have picked a tougher game to start the season.(from whom we already have on the schedule)
