I think that last sentence is backwards. It’s more likely the XII will send those 4 to OU/UT so the original 8 can cash in on one final home vs OU/UT.

Fox is not going to be willing to give Tex/Okl to an ESPN media only conference when they are contractually obligated to be in the B12 until the end of their media deal. So.... add Fox to the list of entities that will have to be compensated if Tex/Okl leave early. It's likely they don't move until 2025.

I think they do that to try and bolster the new guys. Would also bring more news and attention to those games. I think the Big XII would love it if any of BYU/UH/UCF/Cincy were able to beat UT/OU before they get out the door, and that's more likely to happen at home vice away.

Good riddance
I think the B12 will be stronger without these traitors. I look forward to them being the next Nebraska, and watching Oklahoma have 8-4 seasons, and Texas have losing seasons.

I don't know what the Big 12 will actually do, but the most vindictive thing is either to send them where they will not make money, or give them the most challenging with the most opportunities to lose.

I'd be shocked if OU & UT don't have the toughest possible schedules in 2023.

If we're assuming they might be out in 2024, then the priority for the Big 12 is getting 2023 home games for remaining Big 12 teams that most want them, much more than trying to screw with them by doing things like making them play back-to-back road games on a Saturday then a Thursday.
Examples: OU would play at Ok St. UT might have to play at all of Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech. Maybe some of the other old Big 8 teams want one last home game vs. OU as well. Can't imagine OU playing at KU, KSU, or ISU ever again once the Sooners are in the SEC, so the Big 12 might as well make them go to those places one last time. Maybe one of those three would be happy with hosting the Horns if they don't get OU at home.

Agree with that. I'd expect OU and UT at the old schools, with the newbies playing at OU and UT. Possible exception: Texas at Houston.
As for the difficulty factor, I think the Big XII can do both. They certainly don't want OU and UT taking all of the best TV slots in 2023! So maybe some Thursday games, probably see a lot of teams coming off a bye, etc. The more wins for those left behind, the better for 2024 and beyond.

Really. Why would they give the rest a gift? They're the pledges.

The TV partners will say no way to that. Do you think the Big 12 will tell FOX and ABC they want Iowa State-Kansas State to be the #1 featured game of the week from the Big 12 the same week instead of Oklahoma-Texas? That's like the Big 10 saying to them they want Indiana-Purdue the #1 featured game instead of Michigan-Ohio State. If I were FOX or ESPN and the Big 12 said they don't want Oklahoma or Texas in any featured time slots, I'd tell the Big 12 none of you are getting any featured time slots then. I'm not wasting the Big Nooner or SNF on Iowa State-Kansas State.

Pretty sure they are going to send Texas and Oklahoma to all 4 new members. It keeps the other remainders hosting the new schools and gives them big road games.
The remainders kicking Texas and Oklahoma but at their stadiums us even sweeter. Seeing the burnt orange stands watch their team take multiple losses at home is priceless.

Still think it's a bad move to leave the Big12 for the SEC for both schools, I mean Texas is getting their ass kicked already in the Big12.

Here's the quote from ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro to which the radio guy in the YouTube clip is referring:
"So just in case anyone doesn’t know what the heck we’re talking about here. In 2024, we will add on to our game inventory with the SEC first pick (for football) every week. That has been the 3:30 p.m. ET broadcast window on Saturdays (on CBS). In addition, we’ll have the conference championship game. We’ll get an additional nine marquee SEC basketball games. We’ll have one out-of-conference SEC football game per team per year. So once Texas and Oklahoma are in (in 2025), we’ll have 16 out-of-conference games. In the 2024 season, it would be 14 games. That’s the deal we struck with the SEC."
Safe to say anyone affiliated with ESPN will be the last to even hint that Oklahoma and Texas might leave early --- don't want to get another nasty letter from the Big XII commissioner after all.
Still a lot of horse trading going on with ESPN and FOX with the B1G negotiations and who knows what else. Wouldn't bet against something being worked for all involved that gets OU and UT to the SEC in 2024 or even 2023.

365 Sports is really good at clickbait titles that misconstrue what the original source said. People then disseminate 365 Sports videos across message boards continuing the cycle of misinformation.
