It is great how our staff just keeps on working to make our program better-04-cheers

I hope many people decide to support the program by buying tickets to watch this team play— I can’t wait for the opening game

RE: Solid Weekend at our Camps
Solid start

For this coming year, the 2022 class had
1 four star
14 three stars

2021 class
1 four star
17 three stars

For random comparison
2008 West second last class
7 three stars

2009 last full West class
1 four star
9 three stars

Wonder what our best class ever was?

RE: Solid Weekend at our Camps
Rivals goes back to 2002 in an easy format
Doesn’t include transfers I believe

Best national ranking years
2022 47
2021 49
2019 57
2010 57
2002 59

Worst national ranking years
2007 96
2013 89
2014 88
2008 88
2005 87

Soft conclusions
Porter could recruit, struggled with overall coaching
Fuente could coach, struggled with overall recruiting

Silverfield has been a solid recruiter, this year will tell more about coaching in his first true full season with covid not being a big factor

West faded late

Norvell was solid and also a good coach

The four years prior to this coming season are cumulatively one of the better four year recruiting stretches we have ever had. Of course now transfers mean a lot more

We were at or near the top of the conference for quite a bit and that should continue

In 2017 we had three four stars

Bert...I respect your opinion...but I hope that is a typo in that class.
A 235-pound OL?? He has really good size at 6'7, but he is severely underweighted. He needs to hit the kitchen and weight room big-time.

He's gonna be a senior. Scottie Dill was about the same if not smaller. Tony Semple was 6'6" 235 when he came in. He played nine years in the league at 305. Tony Williams was 6'1" 225 when he got to Memphis and played DL for the Jags and Bengals. They will be fine. You can't coach a kid to 6'7".
Dylan Parham was 6'4" 230 coming out of HS.

When the Tigers played the first game at Little Rock I was returning from a business trip to San Diego and I flew to Little Rock where my wife picked me up for the game.

I sat next to Tony Semple's dad on that flight

welp...I am most decidedly not the expert here....so I will defer. I really hope the staff has found a diamond in the rough.

Correct on all accounts. Take a look at this kid's videos on HUDL. He is one aggressive, angry young man on the field and has really good feet and appears to be an athlete (played DL too). I saw one site that lists him at 275. I suspect he is lighter, but has the frame to add bulk and weight. As Bert said - you can't teach 6'7".

RE: Solid Weekend at our Camps
IMO the two most important commitments so far are the Offensive Linemen, and both of them are unrated so far. If there is anywhere CRS has demonstrated excellence it is in recruiting. I trust these two players are quality recruits.

Let’s not forget that David Diehl is on staff now as an analyst. He probably helped evaluate these OL’men and I bet he’ll have a hand in developing them.

I'm really excited about Diehl being on the Tiger staff. We need our OL to be better than it has been.

Last year we were Top 15 in the nation in rushing after the 5th game, it wasn't until injuries in the backfield AND OL that we began to struggle.

A healthy RB ground and staying even slightly injury free on the OL and there won't be many questions. 04-cheers

yep 2nd through 4th string backs running behind 3rd string lineman is not the ideal situation

2nd and 3rd missed a lot of playing time as well. Last two years have just been weird. Between the Covid season of 2020 and the injury run on 2021, I haven't seen back to back seasons like that ever.

I agree with you --RUIN has failed to recruit talented depth at the OL/RB positions -----but the main thing he has really struggled with is recruiting players that stay injury free---since we were the only team in the nation last year with injuries

I really hope that's the case - we were unlucky.
But my gut tells me it's that we became very predictable on offense.
This is the make or break year.

Better than it has been since Silverfield moved up from OL coach to head coach?
