One more advantage to the completion of the new Liberty Stadium in 2025
The Razorbacks play us here on September 20 that year. Think it will be a sellout?

It would have been a sell out at 60K+

Just change which side the video equipment is on so we see blue the whole game instead of the visiting fans.

Cameras have to face north east so there is no problem with the sun during day games.
Have you ever wondered by the field is orientated from northwest to southeast? I'm guessing but I think that was the reasoning. Any body know for sure?

That's a good question, something I've wondered about sometimes.
Traditionally most football fields were oriented north to south so that the afternoon sun would not be in the eyes of the players. I've read that in recent years, designers tweaked that a bit and put them at an angle (like the LB) since the afternoon sun during the fall is more in the southern sky, not overhead, and therefore could be in the eyes of players facing south. Notice that the way the LB field is oriented, the sun would only be in the face of southern-facing players in the morning, and never in the face of northern-facing players.
I don't know for a fact that the LB's field was oriented as it is for that reason, or if it had something to do with fitting on the tract they had to work with. When it was constructed in 1964-65, it was pretty hemmed in by the Hollywood Street to the east, railroad to the southeast, various cattle/swine barns to the west, and what was the National Guard Armory to the north. The original footprint was pretty close to a circle and could have fit at any orientation, but it was built with the intent of expansion which meant they needed to leave enough room to build it up to the railroad, which eventually they did.

Got him. Generally speaking, the few, and I do mean few, occasions when we manage to get 60K plus in the stands, it's because fans of the SEC school contribute about 25K to that.
Sometimes we get 45-50K when we give tickets to the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Navy base, and allot 20K to Kroger for $5 and a bag of Doritos.

Or when game day comes to town. It is a shame about Tiger fans not supporting the home team. It is a little bit better now but I remember the week after the sold out game when the Tigers beat Tennessee. The very next week the Tigers played East Carolina in the final conference game and last game of the season. Some Pirate fans were sitting near me they had traveled for the big game and wondered where the crowd they had seen on tv the week before was. I told them most of the fans who were at that game were either UT fans or fans of other sec teams and some Memphis fans who only go to games they considered important.
The Pirate fans said this is a conference game. I said I know this is more important than the Tennessee game but most Tiger fans don't see it that way. Things are better now but the reason it doesn't sale out every game is because too many rainy day fans and even too many fans who come to the games still have that attitude. The only real championship a college football team can win is a conference championship. The Tigers have won two: one in the Missouri Valley Conference and one in the AAC. Those are the greatest victories in Tiger football history. I just wish everybody saw it that way and realized how important conference games are. The players sure get it.

actually in 1994 we were NOT in football conference with ECU -- in fact we were independent. As I recall we WERE in an alliance that the Liberty Bowl put together and if we won then we could have possibly gone to the Liberty Bowl.
I have never heard of anyone going to a game becasue they were shamed into it, the univeristy and it fans must provide a reason for people to give up their time and money to go games.

That ‘94 game I remember as one of the most disappointing ever, not just the loss but the puny crowd of 23,000. We were 6-4, coming off a competitive loss at UTK the prior week, and the week before that had beaten Mississippi in Oxford for the first time ever. Like you said, a Liberty Bowl bid was on the table and we laid an egg...team and fans. I got to my seat early ready to watch the stadium fill up with bowl-hungry Tiger fans. It never did.
I recall that game’s attendance (“declining interest in the program”) was a reason given for Stobart’s dismissal at season’s end although other shenanigans were widely known to have played a big part.

Technically we have won the AAC twice (2014 and 2019).

How many SEC fans did we have when Memphis played SMU in the sold out LB? Just askin' for a friend.

That was ONE time. With College GameDay. How many other times did we sellout for a game against a conference opponent?

That’s not really fair. The seating capacity was set for a potential NFL team, not us. Ticket demand in general suffers due to that. A rightly sized stadium changes a number of things.
