12-15 years Memphis may be working on a new stadium fundraising plan....then the fans will see this $150M LB Renovation as the down payment.

At some point, some really smart folks are going to figure out a way to connect LB to campus. the distance isn't absurd.

I’m sure the railroad will agree to throw a rail line to transport the mob of students to the games

I think you have a parade. Parade participants pay $100 or something for a parking spot at the end of the parade. They have to be in the parade to park there. Other safety and participation rules apply.

We will need way more than that for parking with an OCS

Anyone discussing walking from campus to the LB... PARADE OR OTHERWISE... is "outside yo damn mind". 3/4 of our fan base could not make it. And 3/4 of the remainder that would make it would not be interested in doing so.

I was talking about a motorcade parade. I think it has been done before. I am suggesting it become a game-day event.

I’d probably opt for the Uber parade and spend the extra money at the stadium.

Just build a few buildings at the fairgrounds and hold classes there. Let's say for a sports mgmt major. Then it becomes part of the campus and we can say we have an on campus stadium. Problem solved! :-)

Or, just put a few classrooms in the belly of the upgraded stadium. then get funding to upgrade the campus from the state, etc then apply to the stadium. Oops I mean one of the campus buildings. :-)

Except for the part where we don’t own any of the land needed to build anything.

Interestingly, that is the exact distance I had to walk to school as a teen. With holes in my shoes!

RE: Liberty Bowl expansion reactions from around the Internet
So I've put it all together and we have:

Parade - have players, band, cheer, pom parade from campus to LBMS ala Navy
Portable Bars lining Central Ave
Throw in a few Peddling Bike Bars

Have UofM run all of it. Make serious money. Build our OOC on Audubon in 2026.

.......And yet again the lovely Memphis gubment blocks our Portable Bar permits and ABC licenses. they won't sell Audubon reasonably. And we're stuck back at the same ole Liberty Bowl with $10 beer.

Google Maps has it at 2.4 (48 min) or 2.8 (56 min), dependent on route. Apple 2.5 (49 min). Of course that doesn’t include shortcuts like sneaking across the golf course at Memphis Country Club.

I can tell his degree is from before we became an R1 research school. :)

You could put an entire college (or at least department) in the MSC.
