Top 3 is predictable, some form of Cincy, UCF, and Houston.

ECU's Mike Houston is way underrated. He had a complete rebuild and is now competitive. ECU is a 2022 Dark Horse. Really feel like he's established himself for the long haul at ECU.

"Long haul at ECU" = 3-5 good years and then P5 job. 03-weeping

Silverfield should be ranked behind ECU's coach. Our programs seem headed in different directions.

I don't have a good feeling about playing there this year.

Still a little salty. Mike Houston trending up. Will Healy trending down.

However, yeah - 2-3 more good years at ECU and he's gone.

You never know. Remember it's pretty easy access to NYD bowl and we broke the BS no G5 in playoff barrier.

If he get's it rolling and ECU has some steam I think a lot of coaches are now hesitant to jump to so-so P5 jobs and wait for the good ones at minimum.

ECU football when selling out is the best G5 atmosphere there is tailgaiting whys and play in front of more than a lot of P5 stadiums hold.

Hate to be pessimistic here, but in my opinion, 1 to 2 good years and he will be gone to a "P5" job.

We actually think we have a decent coach and a solid staff. It's the Jimmys and the Joes that may be our challenge.

Hopefully, he’ll leave you guys in a good spot and you guys make another hire to continue to build on.

Agreed. I can’t argue with the ranking because its based on head coaching performance, of which Drayton has none. But I believe, mostly on gut instinct, that he is the right man to set Temple football to being the American champs.

That's a realistic take not a pessimistic one. You just described the nature of the business. As long as Houston leaves yall in a better position than when he came in its a fair trade. Then its just on the AD to make another good hire. The days of a coach hanging around for 10-15 years is long since gone. 5 seasons is about all you can hope for.

Much better to be winning games and losing a coach every 3-4 years than losing and having to fire one.

Exactly, if he gets hired away, he'll leave us in a better position than when he arrived. At that point it's up to the AD to bring in someone to build upon Houston's success.

.

Whomever wrote the section about Temple barely touched on the situation and doesn't seem highly familiar with what's going on there.

Their HC, Drayton, has put together a remarkable coaching staff with a great deal of P5 experience at many coaching positions, and his first recruiting class is being rated more highly by 24/7 than any Temple recruiting class since 2019, so they're making good progress so far.

Drayton, who has structured his staff in such a way that he's strictly playing the role of an executive Head Coach and fully delegating the coordinator duties to his coordinators, has impressed a lot of people with his can-do attitude and professionalism.
