RE: NFL Draft NIU UDFA Signings
The Bears signed a few MAC players as UDFA to their roster including Lamontre Tuggle, RB Ohio, DL Kainova Fuiava, WMU, and QB Drew Blitt Testicle U. They also Love Liberty grads, they signed 3 players. Unfortunately no one from NIU. I was hoping that they would give Ference a shot, but since they drafted a punter in the 7th round, it would have been a tough road to make the team for Ference. They couldn't keep an UDFA over a player they drafted with their with their "astute drafting instincts" and player evaluations reputation on the line.

I wanted them to give Richie a shot, who they came to a personal tryout for

So will RatDog have to heal before someone signs him in the fall or next year?

Feel awful for him.

Just shows how young this team is. The real stars are all kids.

I think there are a few draftable guys on this team.

The Bears signed a lot UDFA WR's, was hoping Ritchie would be one of them.

That's all I saw as well. Anthony Brown who we offered, went to Baltimore.

RE: NFL Draft NIU UDFA Signings
The injury bug bit both of them. Richie was a long shot at best whose odds got a lot longer once he missed the last 5 games after getting hurt in the Kent State game. Rat's situation was way more disappointing. Pretty sure he'd have been a UDFA signing, if not a late rounder, had he been healthy. Guy's a beast. Good luck to him that he does get a chance at some point, but that's awfully hard to do for injured players from the non-P5 conferences the further they get from performing in actual games.

RE: NFL Draft NIU UDFA Signings
A guy like Richie is in a really tough position. Even without the injury. He’s a great wr but not an athletic freak. Whats the difference between Pimpleton and Moore on the field? Personally I thought pimpleton was the bigger playmaker. But he ran a 4.5 and Moore ran a 4.4. Moore goes in rd 3 and pimpleton goes UDFA.

I hope Richie goes to the XFL or USFL and gets healthy and some more game tape. He can get to the NFL.

weird pick -- a punter in the seventh round. They worked to get that pick and ten used it on a punter. curious. And Ference could definitely punt in the league IMO.

NFL Draft NIU UDFA Signings
A total of 4 punters/kickers were selected. If he is good then it will be well worth a 7th round pick.

Most likely, they really wanted the kid and got intel another team was going to take him.

At least they only used a 7th for a punter. I still shake my head when I think how Wannstedt used a second rounder on Todd Sauerbrun.

Didt the players duck tape Todd to the goal post? PSA for future nfl punters - don’t do curls all day and roll your jersey sleeves off to show off your guns. Doesn’t end well.

He came in very cocky and the veterans straightened him out right away.
He also said he would not kick away from Devin Hester, he was not afraid of him. Hester ran back a punt and Kickoff return for TD's.
