RE: Hardaway, Memphis face multiple Level I, II charges by the NCAA
Didn't read all this stuff.
Just looked at the IARP site and no hearing has been set at this point. Memphis and the IARP are still passing papers back and forth and Memphis seems to pushing a lot of paper.
NC State had their hearing in August (after they submitted a final pre hearing report) and the outcome was handed down four months later in December.
Memphis has yet to submit their final pre-hearing report and no hearing date has been set.
Based on that, it doesn't appear any decision will be made regarding Memphis until the 2022/23 season has already begun.

You can't be half pregnant, but you can be half president.
So as I said, UofM chose to release the docs now at the end of Rudd's tenure.
You're trying to split hairs. No such thing as half president. He either is or isn't. His contract goes until May, so he is President.
Whatever man. He's not going to be around after this week. Bottom line.
Yep. He’s checked out.
I hope you will join me in welcoming our new president, Dr. Bill Hardgrave, to our campus and the Memphis community. His first day in office will be tomorrow, Friday, April 1. There are many things about our University and City that make them both great places to work, live and thrive. Perhaps the hallmark feature is how those in this community embrace and support one another.
I look forward to supporting our new president from the faculty ranks. Go Tigers!

In case you need a translation, that was one of the biggest middle fingers to the NCAA in recent memory.
Despite the allegations, Self remains one of the most respected and admired coaches in the game.

Not that I disagree because I do not think Penny should be fired, but comparing Penny to Bill Self is a very hard sell at this stage of their careers.

Yeah it’s a weird time. The NCAA has always looked the other way with Kansas and most other blue bloods. If it weren’t for the FBI thing, I think they would have played dumb like normal. It’ll be interesting to see with the way things are trending in college athletics if past transgressions will be nullified. It seems hypocritical to punish programs now for things that aren’t against the rules anymore. With NIL I’m not sure what the NCAA is enforcing. Seems like they shouldn’t be doing much of anything.

The bottom line is that the NCAA has proof on tape of Self being directly involved in 6 figures worth of transactions, funneling 5* players to Kansas, and they have Penny giving a kid's mom $12,500 and funneling players away from Memphis.
Penny isn't getting fired.

I agree Penny isn't getting fired, but that's NOT what they've got on Penny. What they've got on Penny is him flipping the NCAA the double barreled middle fingers in the form of playing Wiseman after they told him he was "likely" ineligible. You know... After they already cleared him to play to begin with.

And BTW, this is the same thing that happened with Rose. This seems to be a strategy for the NCAA with us. We disclose an issue in the interest of full disclosure, they respond with a decision that he is cleared to play, then they reverse course arbitrarily.

Again (and you are right), the NCAA "violation" was playing Wiseman when he was in doubt.

yeah, seems taking the 11.5k just made Wiseman ineligible.
