I'm hearing each team will be allowed to sign 3-5 "local interest" players after the conclusion of the draft.

I suspect most recent draft eleigible players are holding out hope of being invited to an NFL camp so didn't make themselves available for the USFL...

And apparently the kicker we drafted was a star soccer player for Notre Dame that was a first round draft pick by Toronto FC.

with the pick immediately before the Stallions.

The USFL contract is for two years, but does have an out clause allowing players to sign with an NFL team. No outs for any other football league present or future.

Think both of them have cfl contracts at the moment

I was sorta hoping to see JJ Nelson catching passes for the stallions if he’s done for now in the nfl

You also have to wonder who is waiting for the XFL draft.

An "out" to sign, but the training camp/off season conditioning would probably be during USFL season. Also, the salaries may not be enticing enough for fringe NFL players to risk it.

According to the USFL News Twitter account, a player who spends all 10 weeks of the season on a USFL active roster will make $45,000 while a full-season practice squad player will make $15,000. The players are also given victory bonuses — reportedly worth about $850 — as a part of their contract.

Each team had 35 picks in the draft. Since the rounds were by position, a team could draft a second player at the end of any round by passing a pick in another later position group round.

For example: The Stallions chose to draft 2 OTs in round 7 in exchange for one of their DT picks (Round 26)
