Average at best. I sure wish he was even a minor offensive threat.

There were several plays he screwed up, just didn't hit the stat sheet. He is not a good point guard.

Everybody screwed up last night, even Duren threw bad passes or had the ball stripped under the basket. Did you watch the game?

RE: Lomax
Lomax should be a 15 minute per game backup PG. He would thrive in that role. The fact is that we do not have another PG on the team. Tyler can be a PG but he is just as up and down as Lomax, his highs just tend to be much higher.
Lomax is a square peg being forced into a round hole by having to burden a larger responsibility than his talent level is suited for. That falls on coaching and recruiting...

RE: Lomax
Tyler's liabilities on defense preclude him from starting as the point guard. Players can shoot over him as if he weren't even there.

That holds true for both of them. Which is my point, we do not have a starting guard on the roster so Lomax wins by default.

RE: Lomax
Lomax is stronger defensively, that is a fact. Surprised you would imply they're equivalent. Averages:
Lomax
0.8 OR, 2.3 DR, 0.3 BLK, 1.4 STL
Harris
0.3 OR, 1.3 DR, 0.0 BLK, 0.6 STL
This doesn't factor in the fact that Harris's lack of height (3" shorter than Lomax) has people easily shooting over him far more often than Lomax.

wtf do those stats have to do with anything?
Neither one of them seems able to stay between the ball and the basket. They are both too busy swatting at the ball, usually swatting at the air, then watching their man's ass as he dribbles right past them.

My point was their defensive performance is not equivalent, which is easily proven with data.

I question whoever our statistician is. And not just with Lomax. Duren’s rebounding total was off imo

He's who he is at this point and unfortunately our best option at PG. The offense looks worse generally with Tyler as the PG.

RE: Lomax
Frankly I see little difference between Lomax & Harris. Harris much more productive on offense & Lomax having the edge on defense. I'd actually like to see LQ play some more PG given Lomax really doesn't initiate the offense, he simply gets the ball across half court & passes to a wing. If LQ could accomplish that & get Minott more minutes, it could be very productive in some situations.

Would love to see some of these players learn how to use a bounce pass to get to Duren. It is always those soft lobs over defenders.

In recent games, the offense looks more cohesive with Lomax in the game. The offense usually bogs down and ball movement isn’t the same if Harris is the lone PG unless he’s hitting shots.

You never miss a chance to show how ignorant you are about basketball. It is hilarious to me.. Stick to hockey, but I am sure you are just as ignorant about hockey as you are basketball.

Another insightful post from you demonstrating your lack of reading comprehension skills. Hear that? It's the pea rattling around in your head. Aren't you the same idiot that thought I was implying Penny needed eight years before a comparison could be made with Cal?
If you don't understand using data to compare the performance disparity between two players, you're beneath contempt. Now go back to huffing gas.

Unfortunately that's a problem for several guys (including Lomax & Harris), almost to the point that I think it's taught to go for the steal more than emphasizing to stay in front of the man guarded. I think this is a key reason we can't beat SMU, it plays right into their game.
