The FloSports contract was extended. I can't remember for when. Maybe it was for this year. And as big of an idiot as our Commissioner is, I don't trust his decision making. But hopefully he will see this time what is right for the CAA.

The coverage was "expanded" but the contract wasn't extended. The deal was for four years starting Fall of '19 so it should end Spring of '23.

Here's information on the contract.

I don’t know much about southern schools, out of UNCG and NCAT, which one has higher athletic budget/expense? How about fan following and relevance in the area? Better academics? Reading the earlier comments it seems UNCG probably not interested. Would NCAT be interested?

Assuming this is happening, very exciting to join your conference.

NC A&T is one of the originial HBCU's and has a loyal fan base, FCS football, and a bigger following and bigger athletic budget. UNCG doesn't have football and they really weren't a factor in athletics until Wes Miller(1st year HC at Cincinnatti now) finally had some winning seasons and won some conference tournaments to get to the NCAA tournamnet in the past few years. Since we don't have football at UNCW, i'd prefer UNCG but either school would be a good add. If I could make it happen, the CAA would bring on both of them. A&T has similar academics but they are more research oriented.

FYI, we've spent many years being called the "Sea Wolves" accidentally. Now that you're coming to the CAA this is going to be a nightmare when we play each other, lol.

In 2019-2020 Men's Basketball attendance, NCA&T averaged 2,796, and UNCG averaged 3,512.

To be fair, UNCG was good enough over the past several years that Cincy hired their coach. Winning and going to the NCAA tournament fills the stands.

To add to 82’s point there…

You prob should focus more on the pre-Wes Miller success years to get a better idea of their average attendance and where it is headed now that Miller is at Cincinnati.

I’m guessing CAA is waiting to see what happens with Howard and Meac before adding more.

We can call our games the battle of the seas or something. Both sets of fans will be fired up before the games. J/k

We are just as mythical as dragons and phoenix. But per your wiki page “UNCW's Seahawk is a mythical creature, born from the sun, who lives in the Atlantic Ocean as a fish. During the sports season the Seahawk is able to shapeshift into the form of a bird of prey to feast on the opponents. In order to transmutate Sammy needs the mystical basketball that was left in Wilmington during the Blizzard that hit the city in the early part of the 21st century bringing with it 3 championships.03-lmfao

A seahawk is an osprey. Very much real. But it really doesn't matter to me whether or not a sea wolf is real.
