CG asked me to let everyone know that the Tribe beat Northeastern today and is now 2-0 in the CAA

UNC up 29 at the half at BC. Grant has his hands full. I have my doubts about whether he can get them competitive in the next 2 years. That was a completely embarrassing defensive performance by BC. UNC had a layup line working!

The CAA is a big leap coming from the CAA. And BC isn't the best place to succeed in the CAA. Tough job

So everyone had W&M as the top team with UNCW as 2nd, right?

If our game with you guys on New Years Eve hadn’t gotten postponed, we’d be tied for first.

After staying clean all of last season, our luck ran out. Based on the other results and our history in Wilmington, I am glad that game was missed

Not missed, just delayed! See you guys later this month in Trask! And unlike Dec 31, the students will be back on campus. :)

RE: Other games of interest MBB 21-22
Elon at C of C today at 4 pm. Cougars are 10 point favorites. I simply don’t see it playing out that way. Cougars might win but it doesn’t appear that they win by that much because Elon does have serious guard talent. Just my hunch.
Towson is clearly better that NE this year. Hard to handicap this one as Tigers are 7.5 point favorites. I think Towson wins the game but can’t predict who wins against spread.
Hofstra at JMU with Pride -2 on road. Pride has more talent but Dukes good at home. Again, can not predict it. If Pride want to establish as a top 3 team, they need to avenge the Tribe road debacle. Don’t be shocked if they get a road win but it would take a much smarter and unified effort. Others like CBS like JMU.

Glad to see JMU go down to Hofstra at home. Elon and NU lose in tight ones against CofC and Towson.

Hens beating Dragons down like dogs in Philly. Delaware running what they want under 16.

Towson sends Hofstra to 1-2 in the conference and JMU about to send Northeastern to 0-4 today as well.

Drexel cut it to 4 before a bad off balance shot by Delaware fell. Drexel followed that up with a bad possession that led to a forced shot and that was about all it wrote. For a bit the 22 point lead felt like Drexel was going to overcome again. We were with James Butler, which made things tough against Painter. Delaware is talented, but when they let their guards take over and stop using Painter, they are going to have moments of struggle. Allen hit enough shots to get them this win, but most day they wont be that hot shooting (They were nearly 60% overall at half).

Hens literally had 3 direct line layups in half court. Blame that more than anything. The defense wasn’t there for 30 minutes and that may be part of not playing much. It also didn’t seem like Wynter was himself. It could be that without big James, the offense bogged down not truly playing inside out ball. You definitely have some shooters the way it looked.
The guy who replaced Butler looked good out there- 6’ 10” and athletic! I liked him and he’s just a sophomore. We have a similar type of guy that we like in Amari Kelly.

RE: Other games of interest MBB 21-22
We only have 2 centers and Butler plays about 30 of those minutes a game. Losing him was a big deal, no doubt. Williams is super talented, but raw. Typical athletic CAA player who can develop into an all-conference player but was not skilled enough out of high school to be in the upper echelon of the NCAA. His passing and handles have some to be desired, but he is fun to watch.
The Hens ball movement in the first half was a thing of beauty that created a lot of easy looks, for sure. They ran their offense through Painter who had a field day against our lone big. However Painter was a mess defensively and then Delaware went away from Painter on offense in the 2nd half, which spurred us coming back.
For all of the commentary pre-season about the league being down, the talent I have seen so far through the league, does not scream down. I think if the games get played it truly will be a fun year for most teams (except the Tribe). Wont help anyone for seeding, but will be a fun season and should be a phenomenal CAAT

The numbers scream "down" , so far it's just more down than we thought!
