I can't see Bearcat and bounce without thinking a popular program just got rescheduled on channel 19. And I have low expectations for this team, anything good that happens is a welcome surprise.

Yep; hypothetical I know but I feel like a Brannen led team would have endured a 35 point beatdown in Memphis. This was a competitive game until the final two minutes against a talented team in a rowdy arena.

UC has some players emerging and demonstrating improved levels of performance as they settle into their roles. We all wanted the win but there was much to like in a tough road loss against a quality opponent.

I knew that entire game UC was going to spit the bit. That last minute would have been funny if not so expected. It’s likely going to be a while before this program is dancing again.

As posted above, this program desperately needs an alpha. Don’t have one now and there isn’t one on deck.

Basically need a transfer this off season to take on that role.

Bolded, hard to argue against that point. Among those more well informed in the realm of recruiting is there any hint of an alpha type player Wes is in the hunt for right now?

I wonder if Tari Eason could have been the Alpha on this team? He would have certainly had another year of experience and a better supporting cast surrounding him on this year's Bearcat team.

I’d have to think we will be active in the transfer market again.

For programs where we are now, lots of quality support guys are available in the portal...however, alphas are like landing a future 1st round OT in the portal for football. Not many around and all the blue bloods line up for 1st dibs.

We will likely need to grow one at home ala SK, Gary, or Lo. That often takes time.

i think that both DDJ and JD have the Alpha attitude but they don't have the alpha skills.

DDJ's game reminds me of Logan's, but he's not nearly the shooter, doesn't pass as well and doesn't get to the rim as regularly. But he kind of plays a similar style in that he can get his shot with that herky jerky cross any time he wants it and can make people look bad getting by them.

Poor man’s Logan with a little bit Deonta Vaughn.

I mean, if you take away the shooting, passing, and driving...he isn't even a comparison TO Logan.

To me, he is incredibly close to Deonta Vaughn in many ways...hadn't thought of that comparison, but now that I see it, it's uncanny how similar they are.

People say I remind them of Brad Pitt except I can’t act, I’m not as handsome and I don’t have his $$.

One difference - DDJ plays defense.

Just a style thing. Logan was the best player in the country his senior year and a consensus first team all-american.
