It's everywhere. I opened the door for a lady a few weeks back, and she snatched the door out of my hand, and told me she could open the door herself. I couldn't believe it.
yeah that is just silly. I hold the door open for women and men. Sometimes women or men hold the door for me. I say thank you and walk through.
same here ---whoever is next, I hold the door. whoever is having trouble I get the door. I thank anyone who holds it for me.
Such a crazy basic concept lol

He's never dealt with the adversity growing up playing middle school, AAU, and High School ball at East. The toughest thing for him is that he see this stuff off social media. He can hear it, and see. It also doesn't help when the team had an embarrassing lost at Tulane was partially on him. Then, he doesn't play at Wichita State and we won a Quad 1 game (now Quad 2).
I always thought the best thing for Alex Lomax was to transfer. He hasn't improved much from his freshman year til now. Also, he needs to learn the game from another coach. He needs to hear a different voice. He's 21/22 years old and Penny has coached him since middle school, which is 10 years? I always thought it was a time to move on and go play for a Bruce Pearl (giving him an example). We've had a lot of players transfer out, but right now, he's being a slave to loyalty.
In 2019, remember when Brady White got boo'd against Navy in the first half. Well, he shut us up by having 3 touchdown passes in the second half. Alex has just got to play better.
Boogie Ellis transferred to USC and is player better. He's shooting 46% (40% at Memphis) and is averaging about 2 more Points Per Game, 2 more rebounds per game, and 1.5 more assists per game. He's also shooting 74% at the line compared to 66% at Memphis.
Damoin Baugh transferred to TCU and is playing better. Over 2X as much points as he did at Memphis. Field Goal percentage is up 3% to 44%, about two more rebounds and assists per game. He's up to 83% at the free throw line this year compared to 68% at Memphis.
I appreciate his Loyalty to the city. I appreciate the fact he tried to win the fans over by changing his number to 10. I appreciate the fact that he's trying to stay relevant. Because he hasn't improved as a player, and he knows that his career has been a disappointment because we haven't been to the tournament. However, the slander will continue if he doesn't play well when he does return.
Your dumbest post yet.

This should be the result when defenses go under the screen on a D1 guards instead of just dribbling in place w/no purpose or standing in timeout in the corner three...

His dad is one to talk. From what I heard Penny raised Alex because his dad was in prison. Now he wants to be a better dad? Oh well better late than never I guess. I blame the media for a lot of this. They all bashed Tubby because he didn’t get him. He was basically anointed to be the savior as a freshmen, even though he wasn’t that highly rated to begin with. Same thing with Tyler Harris to a lesser extent. Tyler has a unique talent so he shows flashes. But of course let’s blame fans after it’s all said and done. Saul Smith got treated way worse when he played for Kentucky.

I dont know about dumb but it is incomplete.
DJ Jeffries is still DJ Jeffries at Mississippi State. Moussa Cisse as still the same Moussa at Oklahoma State though this free throw percentages has improved remarkably (over 20%).
Some players reach their peak potential early. Most of our point guard have required 2 or 3 years to really become top tier. I think a lot of folks believed ALo should have been there by now, and for whatever reason this game had not improved like most 4th year point guard. There are aspects if his game that have really not improved significantly. It is increasingly frustrating that we have not recruited his position as successfully as others.
Ultimately if Bates pans out to be the player he was supposed to be I doubt ALo is under the microscope to the degree he has been this year.
Twice this season ALo has taken last second shots we needed to make to win a game and he is batting .000 .Had Bates played like he was supposed to, our we make free throws, our record looks much different.
Same could be said for our turnovers, or Penny's ridiculous substation patterns to start this season. Change any number of factors and we are still too 20 looking for a 4 or 5 seed instead of on the bubble.
It is unfair and innacvurate to reduce it all to ALo, that doesn't exonerate him however. The kid plays hard, not sure what more you can ask. His bad habits are so ingrained now its just as what it is. We need to hope ALo finishes strong, as well the rest of this team. They all have room for improvement.

I would like to see one post anywhere saying ALo was going to be a savior.
ALo was around 150 coming out of highschool. No one thought a 150 kid was going to be a savior. Many thought he would be a 4 year player who was a good PG by his senior year.
Many of us thought ALo would be over recruited once Penny had a season to recruit. We were fooled by Penny's reluctance to recruit any PG who would take playing time away from his beloved want-to-be son.

Didn’t say there was a post. I was talking about how the media was saying Tubby just “had” to get him. Hey I’m no Tubby fan but there might have been a reason he didn’t really try to get him besides the fact that he was riding out to retirement

I remember when I first got my compuserv login. And I logged in; started a chat and downloaded a driver for an epson 800ex NL (near letter quality) driver for this lawyers signature. I thought the internet was great.
I am pretty sure this thread killed the internet.

If you recall at that time we were building a monster yet losing recruits to junior colleges.
150 recruit was pretty good for us at that time.

Oh yeah. And the only card reader was in the math building. Just had to hope you didn’t drop (and therefore scramble) your card deck going over there.
We thought we were hot stuff when we got Hazeltene (sp?) terminals in the engineering building tied in to the mainframe.
Good times….
