Saunders is a liability at this point with his inability to make a shot from anywhere

Prior to this game he was averaging 10 points on a 46/42/70 slash...but yes, he is a liability who can't hit a shot...
If thats a liability, I dont know what you'd call DeJulius, MAW, Newman, McGinnis, Madsen, and Hensley

I guess you're content with losing by double digits if you expect his contributions to get us out of this hole.
Basic eye test shows that he doesn't have it tonight.

So, looking at things... Occam's razor is just that Tulane IS just "that good."
They beat Memphis last game, 85-84.
So...yeah... maybe Tulane is just that good and we're just "that bad."
In the words of "Abbot and Costello": what a revoltin' development.

They're shooting 29% from the field...no one has it tonight.
Who is going to make those shots? Madsen? 29% from 3 in his career. McGinnis? A defensive turnstile who has hit two threes all season?
I mean, Saunders at least gives us something defensively and the potential to break on offense. We're not winning tonight regardless, they clearly haven't played in nearly two weeks and they aren't that great to begin with. Illinois game was fools gold, this is far closer to the team most of us expected judging by the board's predictions being between 17-19 wins on the season.

Bad night yeah. Still one of our best players. Mikey, ddj, Vik, ody, and maybe Newman are the only guys who should be seeing the court. Every one else should just be subbing so they can get a quick breather. Davenport could crack that lineup if he stops being selfish with the ball and plays better d

Ddj's shot baffles me. It looks smooth. But other than s couple games he just throws up brick after brick. Teams give him wide open looks because they ain't scared.

Or...Tulane hit everything under the sun in the first half while we shot like we were staring at the sun for the last week. Both are not good teams, and they have more shot makers.

Tulane is scoring at the same pace they did two nights ago.
It's not "luck."

This is pretty much it. Neither team is very good, but Tulane makes wide open 3s - UC just doesn't. They really have no consistent threat from 3. They'll be seeing a lot of zones all year

We haven't given up a field goal in nearly 10 minutes and can't cut the deficit.

Shooting 68% from the field in a half is damn near impossible for the best team in the country, let alone a 4-6 team. They've scored 15 points in 16 minutes in the second half.
UC is a putrid team offensively, specifically shooting, and they haven't played a game in two weeks. Why is this surprising that they're not scoring? Coaching can't fix busted jumpers.
