RE: Cotton Bowl Game Thread
Bama looked at our tape, saw us struggle against inside tackle rushing against Tulane and Navy and hurry up against Tulsa and said...we are better than those three teams, let's just do that and run for 500 yards.

Hate that 3rd down play call. Pierce had one on one up shot. Take a shot.

That 1st down penalty on Bama helped. Caused them to have to throw the ball. Which favored us.

Bama clearly doesn't want to have to pass...they look uncomfortable in protection and their receivers are getting no separation when we're in man and not throwing LBs on WRs like we did on the TD.

Bama doing a good job getting their hands up for the quick stuff. They've stopped some open plays.

Yep...Bama's D is starting to get tight into center. If we don't spread them out somehow (Tucker sweep, speed option, flare, or Ridder run), the already tight running lanes are going to go away entirely.

Fickell is the kind of coach who will take the L rather than risk a player's draft stock. However, Ridder's stock would rise if he can run against AL's D.

Exactly. All I heard on pre-game was how Bama struggles against running QBs. Zero runs by Ridder so far.

That was absolutely a coaching point with how many speed outs, slants, and sticks we run.

Need to open up the offense some.

Too many runs up the middle.

Bush got popped on a blindside from the outside receiver. That is not someone we can afford to lose.

Having 4 balls batted down at the line in 3 drives isn't going to help...arm slot and throwing lane conversations are going to start soon.

We've ran it well. I'm not sure i agree. They've taken some stuff away getting their hands on passes.

My fear is if they are running it this well early, what's it going to look like in the 4th quarter when the D-line gets tired?
